Questions & Answers

why does it chatter so much cutting 1 inch pine??

Asked by: waco
I had the same problem when I first got it (it was super loud, lots of chatter, cuts were really slow and inaccurate) but I switched the blades to some nice quality Bosch and it's night and day - It cuts fast and smoothly with almost no chatter. Replace the blades and you should be ok.

Many people are giving it a low rating because it is not a good band saw or or mini table saw and they are exactly right, it is none of those. Some say a band saw is better because the bladerunner has a very limited material size due to the blade gaurd. Remove the two bolts and take the blade gaurd off and you are no longer limited, just pay attention to what you are doing (which you should be doing anyway). Just like you would "not" use a crescent wrench for a hammer, don't try to make this tool something it is not. Especially because of its portablility and ease of setup it proves itself to be a valuable additon to the tool bin quite often (price ain't bad either).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my BladeRunner x2 I've been using my x2 for 18 months and prior to that I used the original BladeRunner for three years. I cut pine, oak, poplar and cedar. I have developed a matrix that lists wood types versus blade types for cutting and ripping. I have found that DeWalt and Bosch blades work the best with my saw. I've made templates for ripping angles like 15, 30 and 45 degrees and without the blade wondering. I do not own a band saw or a table saw as I have found that the BaldeRunner x2 can do it all! He has used it several times and loves it. He said he wished it would raise up higher to cut larger pieces of wood. I love the handle hole and it is lightweight for me to carry. Thanks for making a great product under $100. Here are photos of the planter that my nephew made using your saw in September 2017. He hopes to build and sell these raised planters and your $1,000 would really help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big help in small package! i bought mine a couple of months ago and wish i had purchased it sooner. i have been doing house renovations and this has been a great help in all my projects. i have uses it in doing my wood flooring, some framing, and making my own walk-in closet organization. i like how it is portable to take anywhere i need to use it whether at home or work. i have also used it to make Christmas projects and gifts. for me the only set back was the scroll saw blade wasn't small enough to do tighter turns and thinner cuts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for making angle cuts and for resawing! I wrote a review a few days ago (Woodville Birder) regarding how I use my BladeRunner 2. I omitted explaining how I rip angles on pine, cedar, poplar and aspen. I use the fence up against one of the angled pieces of pine that I made with either a 15, 30 or 45 degree angle. I typically set the pine angled board approximately 1/8 inch from the saw's blade. That 1/8 setting changes depending on the board thickness that I am ripping. I then clamp it to the front and back of the table. I then use another board on the left side of the blade. I set it up against the left side of the blade and then I clamp it front and back. Now I am able to make a 15, 30 or 45 degree rip cut. Another important point is to experiment with different blades to find the one that makes the best rip cuts. I often use a DeWalt DW3753H blade for this operation. I also use my BladeRunner for resawing the above mentioned boards. In this case I rip thicknesses of 1/16 and 1/8 depending on what I am making. I use the pieces for siding and shingling my bird houses.
