Can this rod work with curtains other than "Pinch Pleated"?

I have a large window that will work best with a traverse rod, but the curtains I want to use/make are not pinch pleated but are on rings. Will this work?

how do I chose a traverse rod size?

My wall to wall window is 92" wide. Also, I need the brackets to extend 4"
Asked by: Mary
You will need a traverse rod that is 92" + 4" = 96" This rod will do the trick. It"s adjustable from 84" to 120".

How many carriers (the nylon piece the hook goes through) does this come with? I am trying to set this up as a 120 inch rod with 18 inch hooks, with two single panel drapes that together weigh nearly thirty pounds. Anything else I should know? thanks in advance for all replies.
Asked by: Dave
If we are talking about using two, pinch pleated panels for a rod at 129", then you will have enough carriers to hang these drapes. The rod will more than support that weight if it is mounted correctly. Mine is mounted directly to the wooden cornice, not the dry wall. Be sure to use heavy weight mounting mollies on drywall.

Well made, sturdy, instructions a little confusing but I got through it. Instruction sheet too small, fine print; there is no reason the instructions couldn't be printed on a larger piece of paper.

The printed instructions appear very complicated but it's not that hard. Opened and closed to the center point without any adjustment even after telescoping to the length of my window. Came with 3 center support brackets along with the 2 end brackets. Gauge of aluminum in the main rail is rather thin but with proper support it still easily holds the weight of the drapes. We ordered online and picked it up at the store. I notice the shipping box looked a little crunched. I un-boxed the item at home and laid it on the floor. Found it had a 2 inch warp due to shipping damage. I was able to fix and use it. Next time I will check the product before leaving the store.

Heavy weight steel to handle heavy two way draw drapes across sliding glass door. Easy installation. Hardware complete. What more could you ask? Perhaps, I would ask for delivery sooner than 12 days. Please keep a stock of these on the East coast.

I gave the rod two stars because it arrived damaged. There was no damage on the box so I am assuming the damage was caused by the manufacturer and not HD or the shipper. The end portion where the pulley works looked like it had been crushed, making the end piece fall off the rail and not able to hold weight. To be honest, I didn't feel like driving to a store after work later in the week to return it and then waiting an additional week for a replacement (hence why we ordered online), so I went at it with some of my metal working tools and some locktight and fixed the item. Once I made the repair, the rest of the item worked well. I like it because my window is part of an overlook so you can only access the right side. I positioned the draw string on that side and it has been working great. The instructions are pretty low quality, but understandable. Expect a few minutes to read through them and then puzzle your way through the best way to accomplish the pictures.
