I have a large window that will work best with a traverse rod, but the curtains I want to use/make are not pinch pleated but are on rings. Will this work?

Answer:
Yes, I've got back-tab curtains on mine. I bought some metal hook things in the curtain aisle and pierced them through the tabs on the back of my panels.

While it would be possible to place pin-on curtain hooks designed to work with traverse rods at the top of curtains with rings (between the rings) using the traverse rod to easily open and close the curtains, the appearance of doing so would not be the best because curtain rings are designed to be slid over straight smooth curtain rods for the correct look, open or closed. Using a traverse rod with ringed curtains is really a matter of personal preference since the two are not designed to work together, if the appearance of doing so is acceptable, it can be done, though most people would not. Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Much better than what they sell in store in stock. A very nice traverse rod. I found it best to look at tutorial videos on YouTube to figure out how to have this and make it work correctly. I also bought two of the ones sold in the store itself. One is fine and the other one has to go back to the store. The in stock ones are pretty darn flimsy but this one online is very well made. The brand sold in the store is less than 1/2 price of this one. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Curtain rods The rods are well made and easy to follow instructions made installation easy, less than an hour each January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well made traverse rod Really nice quality rod. Purchased it to replace one that the draw string had broke. This rod is well made and expect it to last a long time. Actually better made than the old one which was a pleasant surprise. Easy to install. August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Defective--Kinked Track Rod is kinked so curtains cannot run on track. Box is 84" long so returning product to store an enormous bother. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second Purchase This rod installed and operated as expected. It is a good weight rod, not too light duty or heavy than needed. I anticipate it giving a lifetime of good service other than possibly needing the nylon cord replaced after many years of use due to normal wear. The attached photo shows this rod being used to support the pinch pleated shear drapes under a decorative loop style rod. February 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy. This rod has 5 carriers on each side to hang curtains on - this number is less than a cheap panel requires to hang. The company charges $5.85 for 10 carriers + $8.00 shipping and handing. Home Depot does not stock the extra carriers for this product. You are not going to hang your curtains today if you need more carriers. It was verified that this rod only comes with 10 carriers total. So, think again if you think this is a great buy for the price. The quality appears to be average for minimum hanging fabric weight but poor for custom curtains. This heavy duty rod is obviously made for prepackaged curtains that basically just covers the windows instead of hanging, properly weighted and fabric quantity. Buyer beware! September 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Choice We are very pleased with this purchase. The traverse rod is extended to 135" to accommodate two windows that are set close together in our living room. It is also heavy enough to handle the weight of our floor length curtains. The traverse pulls open and close smoothly and cleanly with no catches. Travers rod has been installed for only one month, but we are looking forward to many years of usefulness from this product. October 12, 2015
