Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Makes hanging drywall much faster This handy tool takes a lot of the measuring out of hanging drywall. I added the bit that has a guide on the end so I can just screw up a sheet mark the vicinity of my cutouts and use the guide tip to cut clean, straight lines or even circles to follow can lights. I would recommend wearing a mask or using a vacuum to cut down on the dust, because there is a lot of it. It takes a little practice to keep it flat on the wall and to control it well, but it's a great tool. January 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tool The tool is easy to use. Saxes time cutting holes in drywall. December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Cool Tool Been using this for a while and its damned handy. Some "for instances" of my use of it was "jigsawing out" patterns in 3/4" laminated particle board furniture, rounding corners on similar stock... kinds of things. I put it under some long uses at times, and while it heated up, it did not fail or "get weird". Seems like a decent professional tool for home use. December 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Tool, Poorly Packaged Although this is my first spiral saw, it's not my first power-tool. I'm happy with the instructions and the tool itself. The guide works, it's easy to use and it did a great job cutting a hole for my cat door. I'm looking forward to using it for a lot of drywall work in my new house. It might have been nice if the tool came with something to help keep a cut in a straight line. More importantly, the kit comes with several small, yet important and remarkably easy-to-lose pieces for which no method of organization was provided. There are three collets of different sizes, but there's no back or box or really anything to help keep me from losing them. When I bought my drill for example, it came with a bit with a Phillips head screwdriver on one side and a flat-head on the other side, for which there's a simple clip on the side of the hand-grip so you don't lose the bit. I would have expected something like this or even just a bag with the RotoZip, but there's nothing. February 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Every tool has good and bad points. This one's good points are that it does the job that it was intended for and is relatively cheap. The bad point is that design and construction feel cheap. In particular, the area around the business end are flimsy and not well protected -- eventually you will probably, while working in a clumsy location, wind up with your pinky finger making its way to the spinning collet nut; no injury is likely since the nut has no sharp edges but it is something that shouldn't happen at all. One other thing, if you've never cut drywall with one of these, there is a considerable learning curve and work with plastic electrical boxes should be limited until you make your mistakes with metal ones -- plastic can melt if you apply too much pressure with the bit. And you might want to keep the hose of a shop vac with HEPA filter near the cutting point because this tool will throw up a fog of fine dust no matter how good you are -- dust is just the nature of drywall and this too liberates a lot of it February 11, 2014
