Hi Chris, Do not use this product on your garden. Instead use a Product called Preen, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Preen-5-lb-Vegetable-Garden-Organic-Weed-Preventer-2463774X/203008480 which you may buy at your local Home Depot. Mike

Will it kill roots of shrubs

A friend of mine says he uses the concentrated one for killing roots of shrubs he needs to get rid of without much digging, it only takes about 2 to 3 days and they are dead. the shrubs are along side the garage so there is no worry about effecting anything else except grass, or is there something better that will work?
Asked by: Dave67
First, it depends on which shrub and where you live. Not if used by the label instructions. It depends on the shrub. The Home Depot HDX weed killer, discontinued, when used full strength will. Check with your local Home Depot. I live in Arizona and weed and shrub roots are tough to kill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Spent the extra money to try this instead of the usual red round up and it's the worst of waste of money ever. Use the whole bottle over two weekends and it didn't even kill anything and I know I mixed it up right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from necessary weed kill Roundup is a tried and true weed and grass killer. It works quickly but does not prevent weeds coming back probably because it rains too much in Florida. If it stays dry for days it is much more effective. Also if it rains within a few hours after application I find it just simply as not effective--kills some weeds and not others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Does what is says on the tin." If you need plants killed, this will do the job. I will say that based on a recommendation from a landscaper we add just a squirt of liquid dish soap to each batch...he said it makes it more effective and it seems like pretty harmless advice to follow.
