Grass removal in chain link fence!

I have grass and weeds growing through a chain link fence . Can I or should I use Round Up to resolve this problem.
Asked by: Moe
I used it for that exact purpose. I applied Roundup on 26 May and checked the results today (Tuesday 30 May) and both grass, weeds and woody plants were all dead. The chemical is fed to the root system so I do not expect any new growth along the fence for several weeks or months depending ow what the wind or birds drop in the sprayed area.

How long do I have to wait to sow grass seed or install sod after applying this product? I have to perform weed control then reseed the area.

Asked by: Jwh
The recommended minimum time is 24 hours. However, I think that a little insurance by adding another 24 hour period would be prudent. Wet weather or other unusual weather conditions may let the poison linger a little longer. Unless time is a major driver, giving the poison extra time may well keep you from re-seeding.

How many oz of Roundup for 2 gallons of water?

Asked by: Cesar
The instructions require 6 ounces per gallon. That means you will need 12 ounces of this Roundup. The lid is a good measuring device and the 6 ounce marked is more prominent than the other markings. ( There is a line marker for each ounce so if you want half a gallon; just fill to the third mark.

We have the highly invasive royal empress (?Paulownia) tree with very large leaves, growing from the root every year. Can we kill this plant with this weed killer concentrate. Please advise if the concentrate solution can be used without any dilution. How often should we apply this concentrate? Also what safety issues we should be aware of, if we are using the concentrate? Thanks.
Asked by: amyN
I think I would get some salt. Either salt that goes in a softwater system or a swimming pool. Then mix the salt with a little water to make a paste. And then put the paste on the roots and/or stump.

Spray sidewalk/driveway cracks, spot spray or spray entire areas. Takes a few days but then weeds will be noticeably wilting and dying. Weeds are weeds, that's their nature and new ones will always pop up. Seeds may be in the soil dormant or just blow in on a breeze, but there will always be more weeds. **Note on spot spraying. I was referring to open ground. **Don't spot spray in the middle of your yard unless you don't mind 6in brown spots of dead grass.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weeds back a month later I used an entire bottle on one side and a front area of my house the day before my daughter graduated from 8th grade (May 22nd) and less than a month (June 20th) later weeds are already popping up an inch above ground. I read reviews about how important it was to measure accurately and made sure I was exact with my measurements. I made sure to spray and get every inch of area where there were weeds and to make sure the area was wet with spray. I did it on a day it was 77 degrees out. It wasn't windy and the sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky. I'm just really disappointed. I don't have time to spend hours spraying and pulling weeds every few weeks and I was really hoping this would do the trick. I had already bought another bottle for the back of the house along my fence and can't return it since I tossed the receipt thinking it had worked in the front. Am I wrong to think it would kill weeds and prevent them at least for a few months?

The high cost of this product. $49 to not see any results almost a week later. Despite there being no rain for more than 48 hours makes one wonder if it was just a bad batch? Or have they changed the concentration? I won't be buying any more anytime soon. I have changed to a different brand.

I've used 48 ounces of the product and most of the weeds are dead/dying, so I'll give it 4 stars. I don't know how to submit a photo of some dead weeds (or anything else...)
