Are there any special instructions for painting it?

Asked by: Marcl
No special requirements that I'm aware of. I use Cellular Vinyl Trim Plank Moulding often and have always treated it as if it were regular wood. I cut, prime and paint it the same way I would if it were pine.

Asked by: ML
That, my friend, has bothered me for decade. Modern lumber sizes are referred to as Dimensional Lumber. "Common Sizes: Nominal vs. Actual The most common type of dimensional lumber is the 2x4 (two-by-four). Due to the thickness of the saw, the 2 x 4 is not 2 inches wide and 4 inches deep but is 1.5 in × 3.5 in (38 mm × 89 mm). So, a 2 x 4 is nominally two inches by four inches but is actually 1.5 inches by 3.5 inches. When we say that a board is "nominally" 2 inches by 4 inches, in essence, we are saying we have given a board a certain name, but this name does not reflect the board's physical sense. Dimensions are only given to the width and depth. Thus, a 2x4 board can be 8 feet long, 10 feet long, 12 feet, and so on, but the length is never figured into the dimensions." So. Although the size is listed as 1 in. by 6 in. the true size (actual) is 3/4 in. by 5-1/2 in.

12 ft. x 6 in. x 1 in. Cellular Vinyl Trim Plank Moulding is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won't rot, mold, crack or warp I just installed six "new construction" vinyl windows in my Florida room and used the vinyl 1" x 6" planks to fabricate wide planter window sills. Spilled water and damp pots won't affect this material so rot and mold will never become a problem. It doesn't warp or crack, it cuts and drills as easily as pine, and countersunk screw heads are hidden under latex caulking. This material is a pleasure to work with and pretty much goof proof.
