Does this come pre-painted?

I am not sure what "finished" means. Does this need to be painted before it is mounted to the walls? Thank you.
Asked by: JBell
No. The PVC, is plastic essentially. But it does paint well.

Could I use as crown molding on a bookcase?

I am making a bookcase (actually a TV hutch but built like a bookcase) and I would like to use this small molding to "dress it up" a bit. Would it work? (I realize I will have to make mitered cuts for the side pieces.) Thanks.
Asked by: karenNH
Yes, we used ours on cabinetry.

I always shied away from mouldings because of the miter cuts, but this was easy! As one reviewer already stated, this not a very wide moulding, but it is very nice--especially in small spaces. It adds the right amount of a finished touch. It was easy to transport from the store. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how well it was packaged and lightweight. I'm now planning to use this product in one of the bedrooms.

This polyrurethane molding matched my 130 year old baseboard molding in the house. There is a slight plasticy look but with some paint it looks more like a wood product. It was very light, cut easily and was affordable. It is a small molding but since it matched the baseboards it looks well in the big living room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple, small crown molding Bright white, lightweight, and fairly easy to install. We used the "House of Fava" wooden corners painted white and slightly trimmed to avoid coping cuts. We also used a nail gun, on a fairly low setting. I think if you have cheating corners, a miter saw, and a nail gun this can easily be done in a day. Do be aware though, this is very small crown molding compared to most. It's a nice touch, if you're going for subtle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff We've used this product 2-3 times at my Mom's house (her computer room, her bedroom and, coming this Thursday, a guest bedroom (already purchased). Cuts easy, is white through-and-through and is lightweight (but doesn't seem too fragile or tough to work with. I'm not a professional, experienced finish carpenter (or carpenter, period!), but the results in the two rooms look so nice, I have 100% confidence going into this week's installation project. I know what to expect...from myself, the tools and this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, lightweight & easy to work with. One of my Condo's in a fire resistant building had caulk between the wallboard and cement ceiling that always cracked and had to be removed and re-caulked periodically. I decided to fix the problem permanently by installing this crown molding. It's uniform, lightweight and cuts beautifully on my compound miter saw. I installed it using Loctite Clear Power Grab Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive (and a few nails from my Porter-Cable 18-Gauge Brad Nailer, just in case).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with This crown molding is easy to cut and holds paint very well. I used a pneumatic nail gun to install it - and it looks great. However, I'm not sure how easy it would be to install using a hammer and nails without drilling a pilot hole first. Not sure about that...
