Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Niki Water everywhere!!!!
I installed the unit and it took a few hours to even notice a difference in the temperature in the room. After running for a few hours (less than eight) I notice the carpet is wet. Not just wet, SOAKING wet.
Once trying to drain the water from the unit with the provided tray, it proves very difficult as the tray is tiny. It is hard to fit the under the drain and in addition to that, once it is under the drain it can only hold the smallest amount of water.
Later I installed the "drain hose", I thought my problems were solved until I just checked a few moments ago and once again there is water soaking all over my carpet.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HOTNHUMID Junk! Did not work
This never blew cold! Pure and simple, the fan worked but no cold. The louvered slats on top were loose out of the box; I had to put it back together. The box delivered by UPS was a bit beat up. The manual that comes with it is a joke! No where does it tell you how to change the readout from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I figured it out after playing with it for awhile. The online help from Royal Sovereign is no help. The only good part about it was the no hassle, fast and easy return at my local Home Depot. I suggest you stay away from the Royal Sovereign brand and spend a little bit more on anything else!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by george Do not under any circumstances purchase this unit
I purchased this unit a month ago. The first unit was damaged in shipment. I obtained a replacement which did not work when I recieved it. Thought it was just bad luck, so I got another replacement. It also did not work! Homedepot has been very good and is shipping me another unit from a different manufacturer. I hope Homedepot decides to drop this supplier before this supplier damages Homedepot's good reputation. I have been a loyal customer of Homedepot for many years and will continue to be but I will never buy anything from Royal Sovereign again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by zork Unit did not work out of the box.
The air conditioner did not work out of the box. The shipping box was damaged but the unit's exterior had no obvious damage. Assembled per instructions and turned power on. Air blew out, but none of the air was cool. Never heard compressor tuned on. Called Royal Sovereign customer service and they gave me the phone number of a local appliance repair shop. The next day left it there. It has been five business day and I’ve not heard anything from the repair shop. Left voice message on their answering machine today. So here I sit…no AC no nothing.

This was purchased for my grandmother to replace her window unit which stopped working. This unit would allow her to install and uninstall her air conditioner herself without having to wait for someone to lift the heavy window unit in and out of the window as the seasons change. The only complaint I have is getting her to comprehend that she has to put it on air conditioner mode so that it will not enter dehumidifer mode because then she is faced with the difficult task of trying to drain the water from the unit.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Eddie Don't buy this yet!
Just received this item today - 21 Jul 2011. The item was defective - doesn't cool at all. I gave it a try for another two hours and still it wasn't giving me any degree cooler. I am returning it first thing tomorrow. However, I just ordered another one (similar item) after complaining to the customer service of HomeDepot.com. This time, the customer service is shipping it within two days. I'd like to give it another chance and I will write another review as soon as I get my replacement.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MKEgal decent, a few bugs
Cools well, thermostat is easy to use, automatic temperature control is a nice feature, sound level is not obtrusive.
Arrived with a broken castor, which manufacturer replaced (once I found their website).
Window adaptor is too wide for my windows, with no narrower one available from manufacturer. (A friend plans to make me one out of corregated plastic to fit my window.) A bit challenging to get the exhaust hose to stay in the window adaptor.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Boston617 Where is the cold air?
After sweating through a New England heatwave, I ordered this device. 11,000 BTU's you say? Great. Easy to install, you say? Wonderful. Slick push-button use and a space-age look had me sold. It has a powerful fan AND a dehumidifying function... perfect! What it does not do is REDUCE THE TEMPERATURE IN YOUR ROOM BY EVEN A SINGLE DEGREE. After running it for one hour, the temperature went UP. Yes, you read this correctly... it went up! I did everything correctly. Then I re-did everything correctly. This device not only failed at cooling the room, but I got exponentially hotter from my raised blood pressure and near-boiling temper for paying almost $400 for this worthless R2-D2 unit. I am returning this item immediately. It is truly a useless, energy consuming, non-room cooling, frustrating hunk of scrap. Again... it does not produce cold air. Got that? NO cold air... just moving air.
