Can I put a screw up through the bracket into the shelf?

I am buying the twin track shelf brackets and am looking at your shelves. Can I put a screw through the bracket into the shelf for stability? Is there a hole in the bracket for this?

Is There a Rod Hanger Accessory for the Twin Track System?

Is there any type of Rod Hanger (Rubbermaid or otherwise) that works with the Rubbermaid Twin Track Shelf Brackets? Rubbermaid seems to offer one for their Configurations Track System, but I can't seem to find one that works with their Twin Track Rack Shelf Brackets. I need a way of being able to mount a clothes hanger rod below the shelving.
Asked by: Rob
Thanks for your interest in our products! At this time our Twin Track Brackets do not accommodate a Clothing Rod Hanger. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product, horrible instructions So the picture for the hardware really doesn't explain what to do. You need to bend the anchor in on itself to form that point. I used a 7/32 drill bit to make the hole. Then worked the folded point of the anchor in a little by hand and hammered it in the rest of the way (you want it to be tight). You then proke the black piece into the hole to open up the anchor. You might need to hammer that a bit too but mostly i was able to push it in and hear the anchor pop open. Then just screw in the metal piece. Very easy once you figure it out! Why they couldn't tell you this somewhere i have no idea! !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and Reliable I use this dual track system for shelving my books. I secure the rails with 2.25" masonry screws into my cinder block walls, spacing them 14-15" apart. I chose 12" deep shelves to accommodate my 3-ring binders. Otherwise, the 10" deep shelves would do for most books if you don't mind the widest ones sticking out a little. The cinder blocks will give before the shelving will. This system uses wall space better than free-standing bookcases. If I ever want to move the shelves, they'd also take up less space than a bookcase. I highly recommend Rubbermaid's dual track shelving systems for heavy storage (like books). Like my wife, they're strong and reliable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great hardware - infuriating labeling We love these metal shelving standards and brackets. They're terrific. But as for the shelves themselves, we will NEVER buy the Rubbermaid brand again. The shelves are labeled using an adhesive that extremely frustrating. Try using a razor blade or a scraper to get the label off and you'll likely damage the delicate surface. We have yet to have a label come off in one piece on the many shelves we now greatly regret purchasing. Getting them off is a needlessly time-consuming and maddening process. Come on Rubbermaid! We've purchased many plastic products (Sterlite, Hefty) where the labels are thicker and the adhesive properly formulated so they peal off with ease!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right size for 12 inch common board I purchased this bracket for living room shelving with 1x12 common boards. This bracket was just the right size, although the next size down would have probably been okay as well. Some of the stickers left some residue that wiped off with a damp paper towel. Some had some imperfections so I put them where they wouldn't be seen, but the system does its job well and is affordable. I ordered online with in store pickup and all 15 brackets in a compact box after hand selecting the boards to be used for the shelves. The order was ready before my pickup time and it was easy to handle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reviews confusing Twin Track vs. Fast Track The folks complaining that they could not secure a solid shelf were likely referring to the Rubbermaid FAST track system, not TWIN track. FAST track is designed to force you into buying the proprietary wire rack system and is not (easily) compatible with solid shelving. The TWIN track has holes on the top of the bracket so you can easily secure a solid shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These brackets are best for SOLID SURFACE SHELVING! These brackets are great for using sold surface wood shelves. Unlike the brackets that came with my kit which have a lock in the back that would cant the wood shelf forward. We use wood shelf in areas like the pantry, laundry room, office and hobby room where we don't want small items or books or things slipping through the normal wire shelf. They slip in easily and the shelf sits flat on top of them. Yes the anchor hole is towards the rear so once fastened, you don't tip the shelf forward. A bit of a pain, but since I only use maybe three screws on each length or shelf, not the big a deal. And I used the wire shelf and locking brackets that came with the kit in a bedroom closet that needed more shelving so the kids would quit piling things up until they rolled off onto the floor.
