I have been reading some the reviews and most of you assembled it properly so you are happy with the product. I just put this together in 15mins max and it is snug and tight so I believe that many of the negative revues are not justified. Going to get another for the cottage

I have nothing but positive comments to say about the Rubbermaid Storage Deck Box and I highly recommend it!
It is very easy to assemble and has a huge capacity to store all six (6) of my thick deck chair cushions, with room to accommodate some smaller items.
I live in Northern Ontario where we get a lot of snow and not once has it ever leaked, not even during spring thaw. The seal is amazing. Rest assured, your items will remain dry.
The deck box is left outside year round with the cushions left inside. As an added bonus, it has not faded.
It is very extremely sturdy, and seats 2 adults comfortably and my grandchildren sit on the deck box all the time.
It looks great ... very appealing to the eye.
I am so pleased with the all round performance of my Rubbermaid Storage Deck Box, that I have purchased another one. I can't go wrong with Rubbermaid.

Bought this deck box a month ago. Have used it to store pillows. Have opened and closed it less than 20 times. It is already falling apart! Corners won't stay together. Pop them in and they pop right back out again. I definately will not buy another one of these! STAY AWAY!

i just bought this box to store patio cushions on our deck. assembly was very easy, no real tools required and things just clicked into place. the only issue with set up was the straps for the lid/door - not well marked where to screw in, and straps seemed to flip outside the box when you closed it...not a big deal but could be better. after putting together i started to put my cushions in and of course the size is not perfect (to be expected) so i had to push some of the oversized cushions in so they would fit. after closing the lid i could right away see the side coming apart. Note - my cushions were not that oversized and it was not putting an excess amount of pressure on the side walls i.e. i would think rubbermaid would know this may happen with cushions and make sure it could withstand a certain amount of force. anyway i will be returning this product and likely make one out of pressure treated wood. its too bad because the materials used are good and its seems durable...the only problem is the lack of engineering and they should have designed the assembly better...ie with screws etc.
