I was looking for the smaller version of this cabinet for our patio and evidently missed. It appears this is a replacement product. I am unable to determine from the photo if the top surface is flat or slightly curved upward. I would like to use top surface for flower vase, beverage service, radio, etc.

What can I do to get the doors to close fully.

When I use a lock to close the door, the top portion of the doors seem to be closed, but the bottom section is not fully closed and sticks out a bit as if it's opening. Perhaps there is something that I can buy and install on the inside of the unit that would allow it to close. Any ideas would be appreciated!

After ensuring that nothing in the cabinet is impeding the closing of the doors, I find that a gently placed "foot" (actually the side of my ankle) to the lower edge is very effective in securing the bottom of the doors.

shims worked for on of the cabinets but the other one was sitting in an area where the bricks were more uneven and un-level. for the second cabinet i used left over fence pickets to create a level platform for the cabinet to sit on. Read Less

Yes, there are 4 different holes where you can mount the shelf brackets, you can make the top shelf be anywhere from around 10 inches to ~16 inches from the ceiling of the cabinet.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 94 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice but built kinda cheap Looks really nice but doors will not stay shut and both doors have issues with the hinge. The door pins that are molded into the doors at the top and bottom are designed to slip into the metal hinge plates that you install on the cabinet during assembly, but they are molded plastic and mine were not formed correctly or maybe damaged during shipping, but in either case, they do not slip into the hinge plates and hold properly. I have already made some modifications with a fender washer and screw on the lower right, but the left door now falls off every time you open the door, so I suppose more fixes are going to have to happen now. Very Cheaply Made -- Poor design on the hinges -- May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the look and quality We purchased this storage unit to keep animals out of our trash cans. Not only does it do the job it looks great! We are quite pleased with the value for our money as well. January 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Addition for Patio I am a 70 year old woman and I was able to put this together by myself within three hours. I did read other reviews and directions more than once to learn of problems. As others commented on the loose shelf, I also say the same. It isn't a tight fit. It is a lovely addition to my patio to hold gardening tools, pots, dirt, etc. I would purchase this cabinet again. May 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not such a great choice! The cabinet looks great but there is no easy way to put the shelf in. I called up Rubbermaid and they sent another shelf thinking the one I originally received was defective but it was the same outcome. The shelf is just a tad too short to fit inside the clips and it just keeps on popping out and falling down. We have had 3 people at one time trying to put the shelf in. It has turned out to be a cabinet with no shelf. I could have purchased another bin which would have been cheaper. Do not buy this if you can waste time in trying to put this together and still not able to use the shelf. June 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Storage Cabinet The assembly instructions were easy to follow and it fit together well with no problems. It seems very durable, looks good on the patio and has plenty of space for all I need to store in it. May 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by its...alright I like the design and the size, but when I received mine my boyfriend put it together for me right away. After it was already together (assemblyl wasn't terribly quick), I looked at it and the top was all scratched up! It looked like it sat outside for a season already. The front of the doors had scratches too, but they weren't as bad as the top. I called Rubbermaid and they're sending a replacement top - I'll update this review based on its condition. Lastly, we bought this for outdoor entertaining storage and in hopes of using it as a serving bar when having people over....but the top is not flat. It has a slight curve to it, which may preclude us from putting drinks on top - so that was a little disappointing as well. April 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Purchase This purchase was perfect for my project in our backyard. Looks great. Could not have found this product any where else in my buget. Also Costumer service was great there a piece that can in was damaged. And costumer serviced took care of ASAP.. I found that very Impressive. April 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for my bbq storage I was a bit apprehensive about this product after reading other reviews, especially regarding the inability to completely close the front doors. It's true, the doors would not close completely. However, my husband, being challenged by this problem, simply drilled holes on the bottom inside of the door edge that meets the frame of the cabinet. The screw heads at the metal base piece which attach the doors to the cabinet would not allow the doors to close completely. The unit is perfect now and closes completely. May 13, 2015
