Answer:
The shed comes with a floor but that floor needs to sit on a leveled hard surface. You can make a simple platform using 2X4s, 2X6x and outdoor rated boards. It’s very simple and plenty of sample videos out there online. Just search “How to build Shed Base”.

Answer:
A foundation is not required, it has a floor. That said, if you fill it with heavy items it might sink in a grassy area. Might be better to install it on some pavers dug into your lawn.

Thank you for your interest in our products. All Rubbermaid Sheds are recommended to be built on a solid, level surface to ensure proper assembly and performance. A cement or patio surface, or a treated wood platform is recommended.

yes, but would have to place it sideways and might have to raise one side off the ground to fit. It wont fit length wise straight as the width is a four foot dimension.

Hi Patricia, If the handle of lawnmower can fold up it probably will. Otherwise could be stored vertical BUT be aware of potential gas leaks if it is a gas mower.

Answer:
If you fold the handle then yes it should hold the lawn mower. Most lawn mower handles are secured using wing nuts. You can lose the wing nut just enough that the top hamdle bar can be folded towards the bottom. Some lawn movers are capable of standing vertically when stored. That would be a perfect candidate for this shed.

If you also need to build a base for it then all that depends what kind of base. If building with pressure treated wood i.e. 2×4s , 2×6s then you will also need a saw, a level, drill with drill bit and a Phillips bit.
There are tons of videos online showing how to build a shed base.
Remember, this shed needs to sit on a leveled sturdy base like asphalt, pavers, bricks, cement blocks or wooden frame.
Hope this helps.

A screwdriver (phillips) or a drill with a screwdriver bit. If you use the drill don't overtighten. You are dealing with plastic. Also a partner to help would be good.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 180 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for our backyard storage I was a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews, but I was extremely pleased with this 3 ft x 4 ft large vertical storage shed. Price from Home Depot beat all others, some by $100. Sturdy quality, fairly easy to put together with 2 people, and it fit my space PERFECTLY. Home Depot carried the shelving hardware (although of course it would have been nice to come with it), and I was able to order rubbermaid hooks to hang the electrical cords. Doors were not warped, they snap tight and have an option to put a lock on. It keeps even the heavy rain and little salamanders out. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointment My husband worked hard this afternoon assembling my new storage shed for me. The door has a very noticeably warped door. After all the work he did we now have to disassemble it and repack to ship it back! The shed seems very poor quality. What a hassle and a big let-down after waiting for it to be delivered. I don't recommend buying this item. August 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by should have picked a different shed Went together really easy, just won't stay that way, side walls keep popping loose from back panel. Will have to add extra screws to hold it together. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away Shed is not the size stated and difficult to assemble per the instructions. it had to be assembled by laying it flat on the ground, then standing it up . It is hot here ,and the panels all warped. they had to be laid out on a hard surface for 2 days to get them flat, and the doors never did flatten out, so there is a gap on the doors. They only attach at top and bottom,so middle is bowed out. The 6 " difference in the depth is alot on a small shed. It is advertised as a 3'x4' shed but it is only 21/2' deep. For the Price ,it is a waste of money. If it wasn't already assembled,(which I had to pay to have done) , I would take it back. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good buy it was everything that I expect, very nice, I will recommend it to my friends August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Storage Size Easy to assemble, the perfect size and durability. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far,so good. Easy ro assemble , took the wife and I around 30 min to assemble. Brought the hooks also and now my lawn mower , trimmer, blower, and edger fits in there. As well as a two shovels and a rake. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average product Keep in mind that the platform it's sits upon hase to be perfectly level when assembling. On a different note one door hinge keeps popping out so I had to modify it to keep it in place. August 2, 2016
