I ordered 5 of these rails and 15 of the 11.5 inch shelf brackets and picked them up in store when we picked out some 1x12 common boards for our shelves. It took my husband and I an hour and a half to fully install them with the help of an electric drill with screwdriver attachment, level and stud finder. Half of that time was measuring and drilling and the other half was removing the stickers from each piece. we bought 2 inch white wood screws because hardware is not included and we drilled right into studs. I like that they let you chose the hardware you need for your own situation, and the Home Depot staff were helpful to make sure we bought the right hardware. We recommend this product to anyone looking for affordable shelving solutions. We like that we can change the layout of the shelves if the situation arises, and we hope to add a cable tray/shelf in the future.

This home already had this shelving style in the garage, so we added to it. Very strong and stable system.

All the rails that were in the store were of good quality. Installation was easy once I found the stud that was behind the drywall.

I have several of these mounted around my garage for shelving. They are very easy to install. Though I am typically a perfectionist, you don't have to be too precise when mounting these. If you are using the wire shelving, which is slightly flexible, a 1/4 inch difference here or these will not make a difference. How many you will need will depend on the shelving material and the load you want to put on the shelf. They don't tell you so I will - you will need a #10 screw. If you are mounting them directly onto a stud (no drywall) or only loading the shelves with something light like linen, you can use a 2" screw. If you are mounting onto the stud through drywall and or putting something heavier on the shelf, I would recommend a 3" screw. Also, these uprights are compatible with components of other brands' shelving systems - very convenient.
