will it hold a new riding lawnmower?

Asked by: Anonymous
There is plenty of room in the sliding roof shed for a riding mower, but to support something like that you HAVE to make sure that you build it on a level surface. The plastic floor of the shed needs to be supported, so in addition there has to be a well compacted surface (either soil, crushed stone/granite or some other stable compact-able material). Be sure to check the dimensions of your new mower against the interior dimensions of the shed, just in case you got a great deal on a larger professional sized riding mower. I've had my shed for about three months now and I really like the ease of access the sliding roof allows. I fit a regular lawn mower, wheelbarrow, rotary spreader and a large garbage can on the floor space with enough left over to store garden tools as well.

Could it be used as a chicken coop?

I am thinking of making a water tight window/windows for ventilation and install roosting poles and nest?
Asked by: sauts
Thank you for your interest in our products. We do not recommend utilizing our Slide-Lid Shed as a chicken coop as this shed is not ventilated and does not get adequate air-flow. If you should modify the shed to create ventilation, this would void the warranty.

6 ft. x 4 ft. Slide-Lid Shed is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 111.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect solution Assembly went really well take heed on the tips especially the one about soaping the first joints. I built a frame for this to sit on there is nothing included for securing the base I found the cut washer ABB and lag screw APH were perfect. I put this together alone in about an hour. The only downside of this is many pictures online for this include a shelf that doesn't one with it. It fits my mower wheelbarrow, spreader along with all my gas cans so no more having those fumes in my garage. It met the expectations on keeping below the fence line as well altogether I am very happy with this product.

I did find it more difficult to install based off of my space limitations. I had to build in place and had very little room. I would add 2 inches to the width of the shed to account for the roof if you also have space limitations. I had to cut some of my fence post to get the roof to slide (far left side of picture). I also had a couple issues where certain holes that were pre-drilled were not big enough for the bolts that were designed to go in there. It feels sturdy and i haven't had any leaks or anything even with a lot of snow on it. I have quite a few items in it. I have had the shed installed for about a month (1/20/2017).

The first problem you will have is the upper hinges will break and when you call to ask for replacements they will act like you are the first call they have ever had. Then when they break a year or so later for the second time you can do this all over again. The next thing that will happen is the roof will start to sag and the doors will bow too. When the roof sags you can not slide it open unless you push up from inside the shed. The problem is if the doors are locked in place you have to slide the roof back to release the doors but if the roof is sagging you can't slide the roof back. It becomes a royal pain to use.Rubbermaid will once again act like they have never heard of this issue and have never seen the huge number of complaints for the same issue. By the way, this shed has a one year warranty and it will work just fine for the first year or so but after a while is when the problems start and for several hundred dollars you should not have to throw away a plastic shed after 2 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Brainer project - FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS I wanted a bigger shed, but due to regulations in the neighborhood, I went with a low profile shed. I was skeptical about a slide top, but look at the way I added pegboard and ladder hangers and bam it holds as much as taller shed. The shed was easy to put together by just following the directions. I completed this in about two hours including the peg board and hangers. I didnt pre-drill any holes as this is a waste of time. The screws make their own hole. I built this on a 45 degree day and none of the plastic cracked. Had this shed about two months and through several rain storms it is still dry inside. I still need to pull my rototiller in and as you can see by the pics, it will fit. The peg board is screwed right the wall of the shed on two walls to increase storage. Be smart and use a screw length that doesnt go through the exterior. I used the remaining screws that came with the shed and no problems. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is for the security of the shed. Although the shed has a locking feature, it isn't the best. But if your shed isn't in Fort Knox, there is the chance of nefarious activity.
