6 in. D x 8 in. H Bronze Vine Decorative Shelf Bracket is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 143.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks good, but no instructions Nice looking bracket, but even though the sticker says go to web site for installation instructions, the instructions do not exist. I saw this with other reviews, and the "automated?" response, was "we have instructions for many products on our web site". Yes, they do, but not for this product -- what size starter holes? How to properly mount?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable shelving I saw many complaints about the sticker with the bar code on it and the great difficulty some were having removing it. The secret is similar O removing contact paper, get your hair dryer on put it on low heat, warm up the area slightly and grab ahold of a corner and it should peel off. Simple!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Here is how I installed them As many others have pointed out, the packaging says that there are instructions online, but there aren't any. I see many people here have struggled with the installation, so I will say what worked for me, and I thought it was pretty easy. If you are trying to tighten the screws with the bracket already on the wall and you don't know how you can possibly tighten it because your screwdriver can't get in, you're doing it wrong, so read below. 1) Find the stud in your wall where you'll be mounting the bracket using a stud finder. 2) Use a 3/32" drill bit to make a pilot hole where you want the top hole of the bracket. 3) Drill the long screw into the pilot hole that you just made, but don't drill it all the way to the wall. Leave just a little bit of space. 4) CRITICAL STEP: The short end of the bracket is the side that will mount on the wall. The top hole is shaped like a keyhole, with the large part of the keyhole bigger than the head of the screw. Place the keyhole over the head, and slide the bracket down over the gap that you left in step 3 so that the bracket is supported by the screw shaft. If the gap is too tight for you slide the bracket on, then take it off and screw it out a little bit to increase the gap. If the gap is too much and the bracket wiggles, then take it off and tighten the screw to reduce the gap. You might have to repeat this a few times until you have a nice, snug fit. 5) Use a level to make sure the bracket is perfectly straight and make a pencil mark in the center of the bottom hole. 6) Move the bottom of the bracket away and drill a 3/32" pilot hole where you made the mark. 7) Line the bracket back up and screw in another long screw. The bracket is now secure to the wall. 8) Use a level on top of the shelf and hold the shelf by hand to position the second bracket so that the shelf is perfectly level. Mark the position of the top hole with a pencil. 9) Mount the second bracket following steps 2-7. 10) Center the shelf on the two brackets and mark the positions of the screw holes on the shelf with a pencil. Take down the shelf. 11) Make 3/32" pilot holes, taking care not to drill all the way through the shelf. 12) Similar to step 4, take off the shelf and drill the small screws into the rear holes, but not all the way in, and adjust as needed until the shelf fits snugly onto the keyhole on the brackets. 13) Drill the remaining short screws into the front part of the shelf through the small hole on the bracket. You're done!

HAND IN HAND WITH THE RACKS THESE WERE HOLDING THEM UP AND THEY DID NOT DO WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. I PUSHED DOWN USING LITE FORCE AND FELT AS IF THE SHELF WAS GOING TO COME OUT OF THE WALL. THIS RACK WAS NOT PUT UP FOR ME TO PUT A FEW PICTURES. I WASN'T GOING TO PUT A LASER PRINTER EITHER, BUT A FEW PURSES TO SELL, AND SOME OTHER PRODUCTS NOT WEIGHING OVER 20LBS. THEY WILL BE GOING BACK TO HOME DEPOT UNFORTUNATELY. I'M ACTUALLY A BIT GLAD B/C THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH AFTER PURCHASING THE 3 SHELVES AND 6-8 BRACKETS TO GO UNDER THEM.

When installed on wall I found 2 of brackets weren't level (i.e. 90 degrees). Each was off by just a couple of degrees resulting in the shelve not being flush against the bracket. This caused the shelf to wobble or (in my case) it would have warped when screwed down onto the brackets. Double checked the wall with level & plumb to verify the wall wasn't the problem. Went back to HomeDepot and exchanged brackets for new set. When tried to install found the new brackets had same issue as previous ones. Back to HomeDepot again, this time with a level in hand. Went through an entire full box of the brackets to find 2 that were a true 90 degrees. Brackets look great installed but will think twice before choosing this brand again.

I tried using these brackets to mount some shelves in my kitchen and was not pleased. Due to the curvature of the bracket and thin metal, the shelf was bouncy and insecure when placed on top of the brackets. My shelves are 10" deep, 36" long, and 1.5" wide and weigh about 10lbs so it's possible these brackets just weren't right for my job but my advice would be cautious about using these for jobs with any substantial weight.

When my wife and I lived in an apartment we wanted to add some quick easy to install shelves. I cut a few boards of wood down, routered and I voila I had a nice solid wood shelf with a nice solid decorative bracket for cheap. The great and bad thing about this bracket is the decorative part. On one hand it adds great structural rigidity, but on the other it makes it a pain to fit a screw driver in the correct place. And if your trying to screw into solid wood its not easy. You have to drill a small pilot hole. I figure most people buying these are using cheap pre-made particle board so its probably not an issue for most. It is great knowing that The Home depot has carried this same bracket for so many years. My wife and I now live in a house and the origonal shelves I made for our apartment are now above washing machine in basement. I needed to add one more and was thrilled to know The Home Depot still carried matching brackets.

My granite installer said that they were effective and efficient for a 12" overhang over an 8' counter top (used 3).. I liked them because you don't hit your knees when you sit at the counter.
