I bought 4 of these decorative brackets because I made my own shelving. They were an easy install and the best part is that I didn't need a drill. All u need a is a little patience and muscle.

This product needs some tip and trick to install. The bracket needs to be at an angle as you attach it to the screw, kind of like using a button. I used an electric screwdriver to get the screw most of the way in and then once the bracket was on I used a ratcheting screwdriver to get it the rest of the way in. Be careful not to scratch the shelf with the bracket.

It's impossible to screw the bracket onto the shelf. I will try to drill holes in the shelf so the wood screw will grab. Mounting the brackets on the wall is easy. Impossible to screw the shelf to the bracket. What should have taken 1/2 hour has turned into 2 hours without success.

This bronze metal wall bracket for shelving is attractive, but it was poorly packaged for shipping with my Rubbermaid 24" gray shelf. Both brackets and the shelf were placed in a large FedEx box, without any type of protective bubble wrap or filler in the box. Consequently, three of the four corners of my shelf were chipped during shipping, and one of my brackets also had a chip.
The brackets are not entirely constructed of metal -- the decorative finial-style ends are made of painted plastic and a piece of the plastic broke during shipping, probably due to being banged around in the box against the shelf. The chipped piece was in the bracket packaging so I used gel superglue to re-attach it. It was not an easy task given the small size and awkward placement of the piece, and the glue is noticeable up close, but I don't really notice the repaired piece once the shelf is on the wall.
It took me a little bit of contemplation to determine the best method for installation. What I ended up doing was to pre-install the shelf onto the 8" side of the brackets… marked my holes, drilled my holes and then partially inserted the screws to make sure they properly aligned. Note: I did not place the shelf all the way to the edge of the bracket, I left a small gap (1/16th-1/8") to ensure the shelf did not rest against the paint on my wall.
Once the brackets were partially screwed onto the shelf, I held the shelf up and marked on the wall the open hole for each bracket. (I used my husband for a second set of hands to place a level on the shelf since I have a somewhat crooked eye). Then I removed a bracket from the shelf, placed it on the wall against my marked screw hole, and then I marked the second hole (the concealed upper one) for each bracket. Checked the marks with my level again to ensure they were straight, and the I drilled holes for my wall anchors. I installed the screws for the concealed holes, leaving them just enough unscrewed so the bracket would slip down over them. Then I installed the brackets fully onto the shelf, hung the brackets onto the screws for the concealed holes, and then finally screwed in the bottom screws.
Not the easiest process, but I am pleased with the look of the shelf. Just wish the product had arrived undamaged.

Found these brackets easy to install-- though it might be wise for Rubbermaid to include a short set of directions for those consumers of a beginning skill level.
The finish is flawless, and the brackets themselves are fairly beefy, so you have to insure you mount them to studwork, or at the very least use wall anchors with the screws provided.
And it's much easier to mount the shelving to the brackets first-- drill a tiny pilot hole in the underside of the shelf to more easily attach the bracket with the provided screws; THEN install the assembled setup to the wall.
The finished project has a nice transitional styling that looks great in any decor, and is strong enough for displaying both small and large items.

No complaints whatsoever. These were sturdy and easy to install. We used them for some open shelving in our kitchen. They are modern yet transitional, and could fit a variety of styles. For some reason I expected them to be a matte or hammered finish, but they are actually a smooth shiny black enamel. Anyway, they are great.
