If I rip a 3/4" strip from each long edge of this shelf with a table saw will the laminate crack, chip, separate or otherwise get damaged in the process? Can I pay Home Depot to do the ripping for me?

Answer:
One trick to cutting laminate is to apply masking or painters tape along the cut line which helps prevent the "gnawed on by a beaver look" you can sometimes get. Table saw or circular saw should be fine.

Answer:
Yes, I think you could. I cut 6" off one end of one and the laminate was fine. But when you cut it. You will have an unfinished edge.

Answer:
You will need to check at the store because of the laminating, I think they wont do it because it will ruin it.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome product. I used this product to display my car collection in my home office. I ran them all around the room about a foot off the ceiling. As you can tell by the picture. The product looks great and does what I needed it to do. It worked so well I bought 3 more and put them in my wifes sewing room. Excelent product. Unlike some of the reviews I read. I would highly recommend this product.!! February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Laminate Shelf With proper hardware these hold a lot of weight. We used these for books. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the white laminate shelves We used these shelves in our new pantry. Love them. With some wrought iron brackets, they really look clean and classy. Will use them in our basement pantry as well. February 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Laminate Shelving Used this material in combination with 1/2 inch plywood to fabricate a small counter top. I edged it with bull nose to give it a custom look. The shelving is easy to work and is flatter and more consistent than dimensional lumber. January 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality equal to investment It is a quality board for the price. The edges scrap too easily for my preferences and I never could find any boards in the whole lot that did not have some kind of small scrap or gouge that was cut through the laminate. But still a good overall investment for a simple book shelf. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great look and feel I just bought two of these to put side-by-side as a desk top. They are sturdy enough, and they look and feel great. Contrary to the previous reviewers, I had no trouble at all removing the sticker. Rubbermaid must have fixed the issue. June 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good buy Shelves were great and delivered the purpose.I WOULD RECOMMEND IT. June 16, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed! We purchased these shelves trusting the Rubbermaid brand for great quality products. However, when it came time to putting up the shelves, the first step of removing the labels was almost impossible. We used soap and water on one and quickly found out that the outer coating is made of paper, and since the label was also paper, it was adhering much too well. The wood underneath warped and the paper coating came off so that now we will need to cover it up with contact paper to look nice. Suggestion: Rubbermaid -- you should be using plastic or vinyl labels that don't rip when you try to take them off of the shelf! April 14, 2012
