The key to assembling this is to organize parts and follow step by step. All pictures no written directions so being visual is a must. Extra reinforcement piece sent that is not in order of assembly so make sure you attach to lid first before proceeding and make sure the hinge assembly is correct for closure. Had to back track to re assemble/ place washer on the right side of hinge for it to close. It is exactly what I was looking for to store cushions on my deck. Holds six full length chair pads.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pat Very Sturdy
Took a little time to put together. However, quality products should not go together too easy if you want them to last. There is a lot of room inside. Very solid construction, no problem sitting on it. Very happy with this choice.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KDub Seems like a good roomy storage box.
This box is made up of molded plastic parts that need to be assembled by the purchaser. The parts are not the brittle plastic that could break, but rather are a softer plastic that is slightly flexible. There are a few metal parts that add strength to the box. Assembly takes a couple hours if doing it alone, including reading instructions. It would be easier to assemble with a helper. Overall this seems like a decent quality fairly large storage box. So far no rain has entered & seems to hold up in the sun.
The lid has pistons on each side for help in opening the lid & preventing it from slamming shut. When assembled the box is still fairly light weight. The only reason I'm rating this a 4 instead of 5 is the box arrived in a carton that was fairly beat up & there were small dents in 2 of the four corners of the lid, but not big enough that I want to go through the hassle of returning for replacement.

Poor quality and difficult to assemble. The box is not as sturdy as I expected. Assembling a resin or plastic with metal screws is a bad idea. They will eventually work loose and come apart. There was a time when a purchase of a Rubbermaid product was an assurance of good quality but that is no longer the case since the company was taken over by Newell. I am very disappointed with the purchase and do not expect it to hold up well.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by vnapper Storage bench good: assembly bad.
This storage bench deck box is well made but rather hard to put together. Although the container it was shipped in had no apparent damage, one edge of the lid was crushed. The box does open easily (after I figured out how to attach the hinges) and stores a good amount of items. Don't start this project until you have at least an hour or more to work and do leave the inital screws that go in the side toward the back loose so that the last think you can do is wedge the hinge in to hold the box lid open. Rather important step that doesn't receive a lot of prominence in the instructions. I also received a bar that does fit the box lid (that it is supposedly used to reinforce). But overall, I'm happy with the bench deck box.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Boozen Great purchase
The Bridgeport Storage bench is an attractive addition to our patio for storing the cushion of the fire pit chairs. Took some time to assemble but went together well. The corner of the lid was damaged. Call Rubbermaid, sent pictures, and they replaced it right away. Really like that it also adds additional sitting as a bench.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Threeonefourohfive It's bigger than you think!
The unit was fairly easy to assemble--after I looked it up on You Tube. For some reason I had a really hard time with the corners. I am not usually so dense, but this was a little frustrating. It would probably be best to have two people, but I did okay. It is bigger than I realized and holds a lot--gardening supplies, several seat cushions and shuts well to keep everything dry.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by kweinberg Great size and stable to sit on but....
It comes in so many pieces and took me a long time to assemble. It wasn't hard per se but a real pain and very cumbersome. You must have a drill for assembly and make sure you put something down before you begin to build it or you will scratch up all the pieces. I took the box it came in apart and assembled it on top of that.
