Answer:
The rounded part of the hook is pretty big. As long as your tube wasn't bigger in diameter than a soda can, it should fit.

Answer:
Since the bike rests on the hook and is not inserted into a confined space, tube size should not be an issue.

Answer:
My sense is that the mount would accommodate a variety of tube sizes. My issue with the mount is that the hooks which project from the wall are long and flex considerably under the weight of the bike. They are adequate to support the bike, but it will "bounce" a bit.

Yes, it will. We have used it for road bikes, but it would work with any type of typical pedal bike frame.

No, the bike would not be able to secure to the hanger as far as I can tell. As for the 2nd question, yes, you definitely need the Fast Track rails for this.

Answer:
You may be able to modify this hook (adding screw holes) to mount it directly on the wall without the rails, but there are many bike hooks in stores that are designed to mount that way, so I wouldn't recommend doing this. As far as locking to the hook - it does not incorporate a "eye" or other such feature that you can lock to.

Unlikely that the bike can be considered locked into the bracket. It can be mounted to a wood bracket but a horizontal beam does help in the sturdy-ness of the product.

Answer:
I tried with my wife's bike and it is too cumbersome to easily mount and take down for regular use on these, so I used a bracket that acts like a top bar on a men's bike frame that connects from the headset to the seat post. I also use it when mounting to our car carrier. I forget where I bought it, but it makes both an easy chore as it's just like mounting a men's bike.

Answer:
I actually bought two of these for my bike and for my wife's. Because the women's bike has a frame element which is angled down, as opposed to horizontal, the bike hangs a bit less straight on the rack, but it does provide adequate support. It just takes a bit more care in positioning the women's bike properly on the "fingers" than it does my bike with the horizontal frame.

Answer:
The Horizontal Bike rack will hang the bike from a fixed solid part of the bike such as the top tube or the bottom tube. We also offer a Vertical Bike Rack. The model number #5E02 is also available at The Home Depot.

FastTrack Garage 1-Bike Horizontal Bike Hook is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bike Rack This was exactly what I was looking for. A good way to safely and securely store an extra bike in an out of the way manner. Needed to be simple and easy to use. I put the rack for the extra bike high enough for our normal bikes to fit under. If you don't mind having to lift your bike up then this is great. If your bike is too heavy to lift then there are other bike racks out there that would be a better fit for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using it for hockey gear, but it's a great hanger This holds several pieces of hockey gear so it can dry off quickly rather than staying damp while laying on a shelf like we used to do. It's not as ergonomic as I would have liked, and the rubber is just on the ends rather than the entire hook, so if using this for a bike, you could end up with some scratches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product I had this bicycle holder at my old house and had to get a new one once I moved. With the Trak, you can make it the right height to get the bike up and out of the way BUT easy to get down and ride. Wonderful!
