Yes. I bought an 84 inch rail and had it cut into smaller pieces. Well actually a worker at Home Depot cut it. He just used a hack saw. It took a little bit of muscle but you can definitely cut it. Having a sharp/new blade helps.

Answer:
Yes. It is made of steel with an aluminum cover. So, you will need a hacksaw, which might not look to neat, or you could ask an employee to cut it in the blind-cutting area.

Answer:
It might be possible, but not practical. The rail is heavy gage stainless steel.
A main function of the Fast Track is to be able to re-arrange hooks, etc. as needs change. If you have a short wall, you probably won't be changing too often. I'd suggest tacking on a pc of 2 x 4 to the studs, and that would allow you to screw hooks anywhere.

Answer:
No reason it couldn't be. It is two pieces, the metal mount and a plastic cover. But you do need to hit at least two studs or subsidize with the additional use of heavy duty drywall anchors like Cobra Anchors.

Answer:
Absolutely! Use a manual hacksaw for metal or an electric saber saw with a metal cutting blade (the smaller the teeth on the blade, the better). When you cut the rails you will have to finish the cut end with a metal file. The rail cover can be cut with a set of heavy-duty shears or even a sharp box cutter. Again, trim the cut edge.

Answer:
Hello this is Tangelo from the Home Depot Community!
If needed, the rails can be cut to size, but the manufacture cannot tell you what the weight capacity would be.
I hope this helps, if you have any more questions you can find me on our website at community.homedepot.com

Answer:
Shouldn't be a problem unless you have an issue with moisture or water exposure. Just use masonry screws and apply a metal sealant to the track for extra protection.

Answer:
I don't see why not, as long as you use the correct anchor hardware (not included). The inner rail is heavy gage stainless, with twin-vertical holes every 1 inch. I'd ask someone at HD or a hardware store for advice. The track holes are .200" (5 mm) in diameter (slightly over 3/16"). See photos.

I would think so with heavy duty cinderblock anchors. If the anchors are rated to hold the weight you intend to load on it, you're good to go. No reason you have to use their hardware package (sold separately)

Answer:
You can use cement sockets inserted in place of the plaster wall hangers and then use the correct sized screw to mount the rails. Make sure that the socket is inserted flush with the block so that there is no gap when the screws are set.

Yes, you can use concrete anchors (redheads or plastic anchors) depending on the weight. The weight will determine which anchors will be needed.

The notches on the back of the strips, (there's a different style on each end, who knows why?) don't line up with the FastTrack profile. Tried to add a photo but it wasn't working.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fasttrack garage 48 in. hang rail Pre-drilled mounting holes span only 47 inches of the rail, so the rail should be at least 1 inch longer to ensure anchoring to studs every 16 inches. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works great makes storage a little more organized and gets things out of the way. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product, Easy Install We needed a good place to hang school backpacks and sporting equipment. The hooks on the Fasttrack provided a good solution. The mounting plate has many holes so drilling into the studs was easy. The spacing of the hooks are adjustable so you could customize the Fasttrack to suit your needs. Took about 20 minutes to install. You will need your own mounting hardware. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great system by a good company. Be sure you understand this is a part of an integrated system and not what I would term a stand alone product. With that in mind this system is great. It goes up quickly and keeps a lot of clutter items stored properly for easy access. It also allows you to use tighter spaces that might not be suitable for much else. You also, can use it on wide open walls as well. the different hangers allow for a huge number of safe storage uses. It is the best of this type of product I have found. June 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD PRODUCT The tracks are very easy to install,my GYM is just admire how neat the system looks the bike hook looked good, It hold the front wheel perfectly. The hooks hang securely June 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needs end caps Love the Rubbermaid system. This is very easy to install. It would be great if this came with end caps to keep the track from sliding. But it isn't a deal killer. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional; Adds Nice Fit and Finish Look to Garage I had no trouble with installation, probably because I didn't read the flawed instructions first. I used a stud finder and screwed the rails at angles at the starts and ends, and straight in between. It may not be any more functional at first than just using hooks, but you don't have to worry about finding studs again once it's up. Also, you won't end up with a wall full of holes over the years. You should get back your small investment just with the neater appearance if you sell your home. Photo is (2 ea) 48" rails in tandem. November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well This system works very well. It is easy to put up on the wall. The only problem I had was that several of the hangers were in short supply or out of stock and have not been restocked so I am waiting to complete my project February 10, 2016
