Customer Questions & Answers

Do you need one pack of hardware per 48in Fast Track Rail?

Asked by: nholden
One pack will be enough for the 48'. However the screws are made out of some worthless alloy. I needed roughly 90 screws for the amount of racking I was fitting. More than half the heads on the rubbermaid ( perhaps they are made from rubber? ) rounded off. Check the length and width of these screws and buy steel ones for less.

Can the FastTrack system be installed on drywall without anchoring into studs?

I have metal studs over 5/8" drywall and would prefer to use drywall anchors if this is sufficient. I will be using it to store bicycles (approx. 175 lbs over 7 feet).

Will this Fast Track System work on installation on Masonry Walls?

We do not have sheet rock walls. What would we need to install on Masonry Walls?
Asked by: Lynette
Thank you for your interest in our products. We advise using lead type anchors for concrete that use a #10 screw that will work with a 1.5'' pan head.

Can I use #10 deck screws to mount

I typically use #10 x 2 1/2 inch deck screws to mount things into my garage studs. Will these work, or are the heads too large to clear the cover ?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Screws will Easily Strip These may be the cheapest and worst made screws I have ever worked with in my entire life. They just about all stripped and would not bite into the stud I was screwing them into. The rest of the stuff was fine but the screws are easily the most important part of the entire FastTrack storage system as it holds the steel bracket on the wall to support the weight of whatever will be hung on the accessories. Spare yourself the trouble and buy some quality screws instead of throwing away your money on these as I did.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stripping screws The screws in this kit strip 100% of the time, even with the pilot holes and a titanium screw bit. I returned them and used my own steel screws instead. All you need is #8 2" wood screws!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need a better screw drive like hex I had problems with the screws stripping after drilling the recommended 1/8" pilot hole. A hex screw drive would be much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This hardware set is excellent at securing the bar to the wall. Problem is I think that the hardware SHOULD be included with the bar. I got the bar home and found that hardware wasn't included. The instructions indicate how you secure the bar to the wall using the hardware. I had to wait a week for the hardware to arrive after I ordered it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THESE PLASTIC TOGGLES ARE GARBAGE The plastic toggles are garbage, weak, difficult to work with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from hardware pack I gave this only one star only because of the way these people make you pay more to install what you just gotten from them. All the other things I have gotten over the years, when you buy something you get what you need to put up what you already gave your money for. But with this group you don't, you have to paid more money to install it. You don't have to buy it, but if you need something like this and this is all that is there, you got to do what you got to do. Other than this it is great and I love it, I just don't like the way they make you pay more money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap screws that strip. Anchors aren't great too. Save yourself the frustration and do not use these screws. Seriously, throw them out. I had three strip with the slightest of driving, then switched to my own screws. What did I do with the three that were half into the wall? I could have used a bit to screw into them and remove, but that would have been more frustrating. I took my "persuader" (a hammer) and whacked them sideways until the plastic cover would fit.
