I was skeptical the 1st time I ordered these trash cans, thinking they would be cheap since the cost was so low. I was way off base & have since ordered three more for our shop & one for our daughter. They are heavy made & with the sale price I paid you can not beat them if you are just looking for a "normal" trash can. We live in the country, have a cabinet business & we use them for a lot of things. I have pig feed in one, wood shavings in a couple & day to day trash in the other.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by solomone good value for money
I rated these a five due to how they felt overall, the weight also was a factor since the wife normally sets out rubbish. The size is just right also and the flexibility of units in cold weather holds up very well. Already recommended this item to others. Thanks home depot for carrying quality items for such a good value price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KnowWhentoFold Tough water collection and storage
I use this for water collection and storage in my backyard. I replaced the top with a few layers of black landscaping cloth, which admits water, but not algae supporting light.
Might not be food grade, but this is for the plants. At any rate, it'll still be much safer to drink and bathe with than water tainted by a recent chemical spill near Charleston, WV.

The Roughneck 32gal trash can with lid is great, it is durable and can stand any tough handling. I am very please with this product and recommend it to all.

I wanted to buy trash cans without wheels because the wheels always get damaged and then my trash cans lean instead of standing up. These don't blow over, the lids fit securely, they hold a lot of trash and are easy to lift (or drag, depending on how heavy they are) to the curb for pick up. I bought three of them and that's the perfect amount. We had lots of company the past few weeks and the cans hold a lot of trash.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by john This product is TRASH! (pun intended)
I own over a dozen of the older model Roughneck trash cans. I've had some for 10 years. Unlike the older models, these new models are not UV resistant. Consequently, if you store them outdoors (and you live in a sunny climate) these start breaking down after about a year (like mine are). They start cracking; handles bust off, etc. I suspect that production costs started moving too high with the old containers and they didn't want to pass the costs on to the consumer. I can assure you that these cheap containers end up being 5-10 times as expensive and are a LOT less green.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Retired replacement trash cans
Old trash can lids were cracked and leaked during rain and cans were splitting down seam which included both handles on either side. New trash cans (2), are lighter and a better fit for trash liners. Lids can be lanyard to the can and a handy hook for liner draw strings are near the can handle to secure liner to can. No more chasing lids during high winds and collapsed liner in the can. The can also allows the liner to be removed much easier when full due to vent features molded into can. Durability is still to be observed.
