Got as a replacement and hate them. Lid doesn't seal well flys can get in the can. Lid falls off just carrying tha trash to the curb. If the can is to heavy the can is so thin it will buckle and pinch. Not like the old ones.

It is a trash can. It holds stuff. The product is fine. It is a good color and looks nice. I bought two and I had to push out a couple areas where the plastic was bent wrong but is fine now.

I have had roughneck cans some years ago. It seems to me the new can is much lighter and the material thinner than its predecessor. On the old cans I was able to spray paint my house number and it stayed for years. The new cans seem to be made of a different type of material. The paint just flaked off. It is much more shiny and smooth. I will try something else about the numbers. That being said they are lighter in weight it is better because I am approaching 70. It remains to be seen how they will hold up but my gut says they will. If I knew they would hold up well I would have given fives instead of fours. I do like them and the lids snap on very well. I guess time will tell if I made a good purchase, hopefully I did because I purchased eight of them.

I haven't used the garbage cans yet. I was pleased to see they are made in the USA. If they stand up as well as my previous "Roughneck" can, I will be thrilled.

I purchased 3 containers 4 years ago to replace my 25 year old Rubbermaid ones. I designed a fastening system that keeps the lid from getting lost from aircraft grade steel wire . The cans stand up well but not so for the lids. But don't over react if you have this situation. Call customer service if you have a problem. They were very helpful in getting me replacement lids.

Unfortunately products like this at the $15 price point are garbage (no pun intended). However, didn't want to spend more since we live in the city and things like trash cans and recycling bins get stolen sometimes on trash day. It lasted about a year. It's starting to wear on the bottom and I noticed a small hole I guess from dragging it up the driveway. The lid blew into the street and got ran over by a car, but that isn't really the fault of the product quality. We called rubbermaid to buy a replacement lid and they quoted it as $18 plus tax! I'll just go buy a new trash can, thanks!

Lids for the pail are horrible. The worst pail I ever bought. Quite a few of my neighbors who have this pail have the same problem. Poor quality. Very flimsy lids that don't stay on the pail in strong wind.
