Don't believe the hype - the plastic gets brittle and breaks - period. Don't expect these to last any longer than the cheap knock-offs. I have lots of "Rouchneck" boxes and they are all starting to break. I'll be replacing them with long lasting CARDBOARD!

We have used, moved, abused our boxes for 20 years of Christmas storage. They are still looking good. And doing the job so well.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by cqcq Rename product
Rubber maid needs to rename this blue Rough Tote 106 Litre product to reflect that this product is not as sturdy as its previous version, the green 114 Litre (30 Gal).
Both versions have the hi-top and are hinged but their latest version (#2461), is made with less plastic, especially the top and the hinges are difficult to snap in and out.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by StillTheSilly1 Sturdy Container, But....
The tote is sturdy, but the lid didn't snap on, it just sort of lies on top and the tabs that are supposed to lock it are actually passive guides. It's a shame, as they did appear to be exactly what I was looking for, but that non-locking issue is a deal breaker. Instead of using them to store products on my service van, I'm going to give them to my five year old to gather up her stuffed animals. Unfortunately for me, it is better suited for that.

very rugged tote and lid, I just wish the lid snapped on more firmly to seal it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ArmyWife79 Stores a lot of army gear...
My husband has a lot of kit (army gear), and unless its kept in check, it tends to take over the basement. I bought a bunch of these bins for him to use and he labelled them for the different types of kit and organized his army stuff into it. Now he can find his gear, and stop accusing me of moving it on him, and I get to win the war on basement organization. Now if I can get him to organize his dress uniforms and combat uniforms upstairs...anyways....Thanks, Rubbermaid! From an army reservist sergeant's wife.

Over the last three years I have accumulated nine 54 Gallon Roughneck Hi Top Storage containers. I keep Christmas Decorations in them. One has our family tree in it. A couple of others have outdoor lighted wireframe trees, another has PVC candy canes in it and the remainder each has various wireframe light decorations. I keep these in my attic above my garage here in the pan handle of Florida. These containers have proved to be very durable in the heat when not overloaded.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ChristopherFlorida Nice tote but lid collapsed when stacking.
At purchase I was looking for a large plastic tote, which was able to accomodate xmas decorations in storage. It looked good, the top fitted well and there were no problems, until the weight of other totes on top of it in storage collapsed the lid. Now I've got a nice storage container with no lid and I bet if I look for a replacement lid, it will cost more than the original tote complete with lid.
