Let's start off by stating that the material thickness, design & overall construction of this can is FLIMSY! Based on your desired use & needs, this may be just fine. Here's a few things to look at to determine if it may be useful for you:
Wheels are small & plastic. Might be ok for a smooth concrete driveway/area but don't plan on rolling this too easily or too far on gravel, dirt, etc... The narrowness of this also tends to make it a bit "tippy".
Trash truck? DO NOT USE as a curb-side trash can for pickup. It is WAY too thin & flimsy for that type of use. I use it by my garage for trash that comes out of the cars & small stuff like that ... with a garbage bag in it. Working ok for that so far. Can't find a garbage bag that fits it right though ... despite their attempt to install what I believe is a (yes, singular) garbage bag clip. Frustrating!
The lid. I wanted an attached lid so that my kids don't loose the lid after open/close & keep mice, flies, etc out of it. So, the lid works ok for this. Not secure enough to keep out something like a raccoon. The hing points of the lid are EXTRA flimsy & will break if you don't use caution & extreme care with this.
Overall ... yes, very flimsy. Might consider using this as a recycle container with a trash bag in it for aluminum cans, plastic, etc. but I wouldn't want to haul it around, bang it, etc...

I purchased this rash can when I purchased my first house. As other reviews have mentioned, the lid is the problem. After only a month of use the lid would not operate properly and wound up getting thrown out by the trash men. It was probably an accident, but I wouldn't have blamed them even if they'd done it intentionally, since this trash can design must be a huge pain in the butt for them. Anyway, I continued to use it for an additional two years, without a lid. A few weeks ago, after a major rain storm, I went to throw a bag into the can and noticed thousands of maggots crawling around the inside of the can because the rain had created a perfect home for them inside this terribly designed trash can. My advice: DON'T BUY IT!! Spend another $20 and get a properly designed trash can.

I had to cut a 1/8 X 3/8 groove to keep lid from unhinging itself from can. So far it has worked.

I bought 2 of them. I like the feature where the lid always stays on so you don't lose it. They break off easily. Now I have no lids and the animals are constantly in it. So disappointed. Want to get lids but they don't have them.

This Rubbermaid Roughneck trash can is a nice large size pail that will hold a lot more garbage than my old can does. 45 gallons. It has 2 wheels on the back to roll it to the curb for pickup. The red handle is easy to hold and to tilt it back for rolling. The lid is put on by lining up notch with slots on the back top near handle. This will give many years of service.

The lid always detaches from the can. Having to always snap the lid back on after I use it and after the garbage men use it is annoying. Spend a little more for better quality.

Save your pennies and get the Toter.
Within the first year, the rim of the can had broken in a few places. This makes it difficult for the lid to always shut properly since the rest of the can is thinner plastic and loses its shape. It also leaves some edges that snag on garbage bags and can tear holes. In about three years, there was a hole in the lid. And that really is the nail in the coffin. The smells waft out and the rain gets in.
Perhaps our garbage men are just rough? More than once I've found the lid cast aside next to it after trash day. Either way, its not sufficient for my needs. Or maybe I'm just greedy about how long a trash can should last. I swear my grandfather had the same one for as long as I knew him though...

...that's what is says on the sticker and that's why we bought it. On the first night we put trash in the can, a squirrel chewed through it. I'm disappointed!
