CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive saw a few details missed The Rubi is a great production cut saw. You can preset cuts of porcelain tile 3 deep with ease. Whether or not you know what you are doing when you set up the saw it will draw attention of all trades it is a beast. I have had mine for 3 years. Have used for production hotel tile jobs, and granite prefab slab installations. Pros Stand and saw make cuts effortless, cut man on the job is first pick. The rail is sturdy rip 3 cm material pretty true for a portable unit. Cool little clamp for material comes with unit and works with aluminum tables. Need to keep this lubed. I rated this at 5 stars because have not found better. Cons Arbor size for blades is (I think 1" or the big CM size like my festool blade) I think a European standard and is not available at Lowes or home depot. In a pinch I have had to drill out blades to get through a weekend. The rail stop lock has stopped working (looks like too much work to fix vs a hand clamp temp fix. In high temp work conditions the plastic pan becomes too soft and will collapse. I use a tiedown to support the belly in hot weather. Contacted Rubi about this with no response. The knobs for stops should be a different shape. It conflicts with the angle stop piece between 2 and 4 inches (sorry poor description but if you have one you will understand my comment) When the tool is collapsed two of the stand knobs screw in when collapsed the other two do not. (Rubi Over Sight) You have to remove the guide and angle stop to cut 26" prefab granite on a 45 it is only 4 bolts but could have been designed better. On the misc. nuts and bolts for the price of the tool Rubi should have spent a little extra on Stainless steel hardware as this is a wet saw. One person can transport on the ground easily, a bit too much for 1 person to load in and out of a pickup. April 20, 2014
