Customer Questions & Answers

does it come with the screen?

Is the screen included with the rest of the materials? Is everything in the online picture included with this kit? Can all of the materials be purchased at your local Home Depot?
Asked by: karen903
The kit should include the screen and other accessories. The materials for this kit can usually be purchased at your local Home Depot but the colors that are available in stock vary from area to area. The Sierra Blend blocks may not be available on the shelf. If they are not available on the shelf then you will most likely have to order the kit in order to get that color.

Why is this so expensive

I add up the individual cost of the items: 36 trapezoid stones 36 min stones 1 fire pit insert and I get about $200. This kit is almost $400. Am I missing someting?
Asked by: Mike
I did the same thing. The insert is only $79. I added an extra level to mine and was out the door for $269.17 and nobody at Home Depot could explain why it was $500+ on line.

What is the total shipping weight?

Asked by: Joe
i'd figure around 900 pounds.. large bricks (36 x 20lbs = 720lbs) small bricks (36 x 3.5lbs= 126lbs) fire pit insert (I doubt it weighs 10 pounds) so about 850 minimum total you'll save around $250 if you can buy individual bricks at the store...

RumbleStone 46 in. x 10.5 in. Round Concrete Fire Pit Kit No. 1 in Sierra Blend is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great but buy individually if you can the pit looks beautiful but we bought individually to save a few hundred dollars.. the main bricks you'll need 12 of them per row for a total of 36.. they run $3.18 each in the store right now. The mini bricks you'll need an equal number to the large.. they run $0.68 each.. that's about $140 for the bricks.. then figure about 60 bucks for the pit insert and you're at around $200 vs. $462 for the kit.. main blocks weigh around 20 pounds each (750 pounds) mini blocks weigh 3.5 pounds each (126 pounds) so if you have a truck it's a given you can haul under 900 pounds.. even in a car i'd make the extra trip or two to save over $250...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fire pit! We ordered the grey stone fire pit with 3 levels but ended up receiving 12 extra trapezoid and 12 extra mini stones! ( and yes we installed it correctly the 3 level is 12 stones per level with a total of 36 of trapezoid and mini stones, we received 48 stones each of trapezoid and minis) I ADVISE EVERYONE TO BUY ALL THESE SUPPLIES SEPARATELY! 36 trapezoid stones = 89.28 36 mini stones = 20.88 and a fire pit insert = 69.97 total without shipping would be $180.30. So go to the store and buy everything separate to save you some money!!!!! Wish we would have done that. Otherwise, we love the look of the fire pit!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Damaged Ordered this product online went to the Home Depot to pick it up and advise the customer service representative I wanted to check it before I took it home. It's a good thing I did check it because it came in damaged the firepit the screen the tray I had a feeling that was going to happen because all the reviews I read said that there's came in defective are damaged advice instead so many bad reviews on my check it before they send it out answer was they didn't know luckily they had a screen and Bowl there that they could replace it with otherwise they wanted me to order another fire pit and take a chance of the same thing happening again overall this was a great fire pit it's just that things like this should not happen they should be checked in advance before you call the customer to pick up something that's damaged. The screen it was unusable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buy the individual pieces The kit is a good idea, but you get EXTREMELY overcharged. If you go to the store you can get the bricks and insert for roughly $192 ($2.57/trap + $0.60/mini + $69.97/insert + tax), 36 bricks each of traps and minis. Another benefit of buying piecemeal is you select the best quality bricks at the store. If you prefer the open pit look, just get some fire-proof bricks to line the inside and save yourself another $50-ish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Need for Kit.... I purchased the pieces separately at my local HD rather than the kit. The metal insert was $70 and the bricks $110. Not sure why the kit is more than double, maybe more color choices?? It took me a little over an hour to level the space, layout, and glue (adhesive & paver sand was an extra $12) but for less than $200 it is a nice easy yard piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be easier...looks fantastic! I was hesitant to buy this "kit" since I wanted the first pit to really look authentic. After several hours online, I kept coming back to this one as I liked the look with the smaller stones in between. Bought the kit, received it in just over 1 week and the setup couldn't be easier; simply laying out the stones. Stones are solid, looks authentic and value is there since I didn't have to waste time figuring out what materials I needed, picking out stones, etc.
