Answer:
Hello Lisa!
Marine coatings are durable and long-lasting.
The manufacturer says this product is suitable for wood.
Priced around $24 per quart, I wonder if this may be just a bit overkill.
Certainly will meet your specifications.
However, you might also consider Rust-Oleum Clean Metal Primer which is suitable for wood and costs less than $10 per quart.

I just purchased Marine Coatings Primer for Wood and Fiberglass and picked it up today. When I went to the site to order 2 more gallons to finish the project the web site indicates the product has been discontinued. How can I purchase more of this product to finish my project? I hope I'm not forced to use another product as this could effect the quality of my finish.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I have been using the Rustoleum line of paints in restoring an old sailboat. They have worked very well and are much less expensive than the paints sold in the boat stores. My only problem has been availability, but I have found Home Depot to be a good source with quick shipping. October 5, 2011
