Questions & Answers

Is this a med Medium Urethane Reducer compatible with basecoat and clear coats products

Is this a med Medium Urethane Reducer compatible with basecoat and clear coats products
Asked by: Bill
Bill, our 1 gal. Specialty Reducer is a blend of Acetone and Methyl n-Amyl Ketone, and should work well with paints and primers that require acetone thinners. We have not tested this product with urethane or clear coats, so we recommend testing a small amount first.

Can this be used to reduce lacquer applications?.

Asked by: Joe
Rust-Oleum® Specialty Reducer thins paint or primers for easy spray application. It is recommended for use with Rust-Oleum Primer Surfacer. Cleans tools and spray equipment. Carefully read all directions, notes and cautions prior to use. Keep in mind, most automotive finishes require a specific thinner for use within certain temperature ranges. Specialty Reducer has a medium rate of drying when used within mid-range temperature conditions.
