Could this be used for protection of brass after polishing?

Could this be used for protection of brass after polishing?

In order for Rust-Oleum Automotive Closs Clear Enamel to adhere to the surface lightly sand glossy surfaces. For best results, dry or wet sand with 400-grit sandpaper to feather adjacent paint surface and prepare metal. Clean area to be painted with Rust-Oleum Mineral Spirits to remove all oil, grease, wax and dirt. Dry thoroughly. Polishing compounds will interfere with the adhesion of the coating.

Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Spray Paint dries to a hard, durable finish. We do offer an auto body clear coat in a quart size. Check out Rust-Oleum Automotive Auto Body Clear Coat! We do not recommend adding a hardener since it could affect the performance of the coating. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-1-qt-Auto-Body-Clear-Coat-Paint-Case-of-2-253522/204644771

This time I use it to dress up my kitchen door. It cannot be rush as I have given it multi layer of spray before polish of it. Now I got a nice gentle glossy finish on my kitchen. HOw long it will last, I have no comment on this time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yellows over time I bought this product for my car hood, which i spent days stripping down to bare metal and re-painting thanks to clear coat failure that i let go way too long and ended up with some heavy rust i couldn't just paint over. So i stripped, primed, and painted, then clear coated with this product. I also used it to coat the rear bumper, which i didn't strip, but i did a lot of touch up spots there. The product went on well and looked nice. I did three coats, and did a high-grit wet sand between each coat to get a good shine. It's hard to get an even coat on such a large area from a spray can, but i didn't see any streaks... at first. After only 1 year, it's YELLOW. And when it yellowed, the streaks i knew were there (because the spray pattern is so small) showed up. Also, despite my sanding, the clear coat wasn't glossy enough to match the finish on the rest of my car from the beginning. I was willing to live with it because it was such an improvement over what it had been, but it nagged me. I bought this spray because it said Gloss and that it was for cars. Why would anyone want a clear coat that isn't glossy and turns yellow? I'm not exactly subjecting it to harsh conditions. I do keep the car outdoors, but i live in NJ. I noticed Rustoleum now has a an acrylic gloss paint that specifies it's non-yellowing. Why even produce a clear coat that isn't non-yellowing?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I got huge problem I painted the base color, it was nice and smooth. Waited till it dried then sprayed this clear coat. I saw white haze stripes every where. Waited till next day then wiped the haze but did not work. Touched the surface and it rough like low P number sand paper. I used fine sand paper to slightly sand it and surface get smooth but still have dull color not clear at all. I used wax and buffing machine to polish, the haze gone but color is not clear and is not glossy at all. I used 2 cans on one Tacoma hood. Price was OK but I lost 2 day of works for preparing and painting. Now I have to sand it out and paint again.
