Can I use this paint in a non-high heat paint application? Flat red paint is hard to find.

Answer: 
Once dry, Rust-Oleum High Heat must be further cured to increase durability. This involves a process of baking at high temperatures to completely cure it. This is not recommended for use on surfaces that are not exposed to high heat because the paint will not be durable/strong without its full curing process. We recommend the use of a Matte clear finish if you wish to make a gloss red into a flat. Read More

Yes, Rust-Oleum High Heat Enamel Spray Paint can be applied to a smoker, however, it is important to bake the surface at 250°F for 30 minutes after application and then allow 30 minutes for it to cool. Bake it again at 400°F for another 30 minutes and allow 30 minutes to cool. Then bake at 600°F for 30 minutes and then allow 30 minutes to cool again.
