Rust-Oleum Automotive High Heat Primer resists heat up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Making it ideal for uses under a vehicles hood. This durable primer can be applied to bare metal. For maximum protection, top coat with Rust-Oleum High Heat paint. Use with Rust-Oleum High Heat Primer Spray.

  • Oil-based formula resists temperatures up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit
  • For use on automotive engines and other automotive surfaces that reach intermittent temperatures up to 2000°F
  • Dries to the touch in 30 minutes, once dry, high heat must be further cured by the engines heat for increase durability
  • 12 oz. can provides coverage for up to 10 sq. ft.
  • Features an any-angle spray with a comfort tip for a professional appearance
  • Flat sheen for excellent adhesion of topcoat
  • Rust preventive for a long-lasting finish

Answer: 
Rick, we do not recommend using Rust-Oleum High Heat Primer or Paints on the interior surfaces of your grill. This product is not designed to come into direct contact with flames.

Answer: 
To heat cure Rust-Oleum Stops Rust High Heat Primer items off a vehicle will need to bake at 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 600°F
(315°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Caution: Be sure not to exceed the heat tolerance of the least heat tolerant part.

In most cases, using Rust-Oleum High Heat Spray Paint on a motorcycle frame is not necessary. High Heat Primer Spray Paint is recommended for surfaces that will reach temperatures over 200°F. Most frames will not reach surface temperatures that high, making standard spray paints ideal for application. Instead, check out Rust-Oleum Automotive Primer Spray Paint. Read More

I only need one can of this primer, not 6, but apparently no stores carry it! How can I get just one can if it's only sold in stores? Do I need to just purchase 6 cans and take 5 of them back for a refund???
