Rust-Oleum Automotive High Heat Primer resists heat up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Making it ideal for uses under a vehicles hood. This durable primer can be applied to bare metal. For maximum protection, top coat with Rust-Oleum High Heat paint. Use with Rust-Oleum High Heat Primer Spray.

  • For use on automotive engines and other automotive surfaces that reach intermittent temperatures up to 2000°F
  • Dries to the touch in 30 minutes, once dry, high heat must be further cured by the engines heat for increase durability

Rust-Oleum Automotive High Heat Primer must go through a heat curing process to properly harden and adhere to the surface. – Bake at 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 600°F
(315°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Caution: Be sure not to exceed the heat tolerance of the least heat tolerant

Rick, we do not recommend using Rust-Oleum High Heat Primer or Paints on the interior surfaces of your grill. This product is not designed to come into direct contact with flames.

To heat cure Rust-Oleum Stops Rust High Heat Primer items off a vehicle will need to bake at 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Bake at 600°F
(315°C) for 30 minutes then allow 30 minutes to cool. Caution: Be sure not to exceed the heat tolerance of the least heat tolerant part.
