I went ahead and put it on a wood floor. It was a new installed shed and had wood floor with some coating/sealer on it. The epoxy went down fine. It looks good and appears to be tough. I have dragged cabinets on it (after two weeks of curing) and they did not leave a mark. Have dropped tools. ie hammer etc and it did not chip. So it appears that this worked ok on sealed wood. Answer:
Hello WRM!
EpoxyShield is designed for application over semi-porous concrete. It requires direct contact with the concrete to adhere properly.
If you would like to paint your wood garden shed floor, consider Behr Porch and Floor paint. Behr #434 oil-based primer is recommended as a base coat (before painting) to ensure proper adhesion.

Answer:
You "can" but it really depends on the wood, the paint on the wood, dampness etc.
Is it dry, unpainted new, wood? then yes, but it may chip

Answer:
Sorry, but Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield is meant to be applied to concrete surfaces. Rust-Oleum does make a Porch and Floor coating that would work on wood floors.
If it isn't available at your local store, it can be special ordered.

Answer:
Absolutly, the flakes should be raised above the paint to provide a non slip surface. Probably not an official designation, but certainly not slippery on my floor (with flakes)

So far, it's pretty good re: traction. I'm not sure how it would be if wet though.

Answer:
Saeed - We would suggest adding our Anti-Skid Additive, which is simply mixed into the coating during the application process.
You can find the Anti-Skid Additive at select Home Depot stores. If your local Home Depot does not carry it they can special order it for you.

Answer:
You will want to wash the floor using EPOXYShield Heavy-Duty Degreaser (sold separately) or an all purpose household cleaner. Allow the surface to completely dry before coating.
If your local Home Depot doesn't carry the degreaser product, it can be special ordered.

Answer:
Hey there cra-z-cunuck,
For floor prep and removing grease and oil deposits, a TSP solution usually works best. Scrub the area down thoroughly and wipe off any excess solution with a rag/towel. Water it down afterwards to wash away any remaining residue and wait for it to dry before moving on to the next step of etching the flooring.

My garage floor sweats every spring. Will this product stay intact with the moisture coming up through it?

Answer:
Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield will not hold back hydrostatic pressure ... water forced up from below the concrete.
As a result, the coating will be unseated by water coming up from below the concrete ... resulting in peeling.

Answer:
Unfortunately if your floor shows signs of moisture, we would not suggest using this product (Model # 203843).
Moisture will keep the coating from properly adhering to the surface and will essentially cause the coating to come up.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly Recommended For Unfinished Basement Floors Did some research before purchasing and decided to go with this kit due to some good reviews. Overall, well put together kit, easy to follow instructions, easy to mix etc. Floor is fairly new,so prep wasn't too difficult, just swept, vacuumed and taped up the area.Definitely recommend using some good lighting,it's easy to miss spots when applying it. Dried fast, seems to be doing very well so far and looks extremely better than the bare concrete. November 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking floor I applied this to my bare concrete basement floor and I'm very happy with how it looks. I didn't use a clear coat. The floor was about 550 sq ft. I combined two gallons and there was more than enough. My kids were riding their scooters on it two days later. The hardest thing was the prep work, which involved extensive sweeping, degreasing, mopping, and filling imperfections. I do recommend keeping the area well ventilated for a few hours after application. The odor was strong while it dried but managed by opening windows. December 24, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 10 years later, still holding up well Approximately 10 years ago I had used the beige version of this two part epoxy on an old basement floor. After properly cleaning the surface, I applied this (I went without the little sparkles) and it has held up remarkably well in our basement. It even survived a minor flood. I would recommend this product for sure. November 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied with product!! "my" leased porch balcony doesn't look like cow dung any more and that's a good thing. Highly recommended, and for someone that doesn't spend alot of time out on the balcony - heck it looks like those new trucks guys buy and never put anything in the back of it. 5 aloof stars and perfectomundo planeot! August 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly Surprised My basement is a nightmare, many many layers of old paint, cracks everywhere, damp, stone foundation. I knew i am never going to get it into a livable space but never thought it would liik as good as it does now thanks to this epoxy. The state of the floors means i will probably be patching and repairing it forever, it was not possible to get all the paint off, but the look of this epoxy has greatly improved the basement. The flakes naturally add a non-uniform look to the floor that does a great job of masking all the other imperfections and it really is hard. I thought that it would be flaking up already and after 3 months of battering it looks like new. Only challenge was the cost, but it covered really well, more Sqft than advertised, way more flakes than needed. It does not stop water seepage through the cracks in the floor, but it specifically says it does not and warns against using it in my situation. December 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT PRODUCT FOR A GARAGE I put this product down a week ago. I've been working in the garage since and parked my Harley on it the same night. This coating is very sturdy and easy to apply. So far, I'm very impressed. Although I don't need it, I would like to see some 1 quart repair kits available as I'm sure I'll need it in the future. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved it! This looks amazing on my basement floor! We used it in my daughters playroom and it looks like a completely new room, and it was super easy to use although I would be afraid to do it by myself because it dries so quickly and you have to sprinkle on the chips before it dries. Luckily my husband was there to help me out with it. June 27, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'VE USED THIS PRODUCT BEFORE, AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! It's a Great Product, wouldn't use anything else, Made my my basement complete! Like I said, I used this product in the past. I just wish the local stores would stock this product so I didn't have to what to recieve the product deliveried to my front door! But all in all can't beat the price and service! Thanks Guys! November 25, 2011
