I waited 8 weeks to leave review so I would have time to give honest review. I knew I needed tough product since my garage gets extra abuse. We own a 67 camaro that has had 4 engines changed so I was really worried about adhering issues. I cleaned better than most people FOR SURE but it was really the most important step. I scrubed with pressure washer and tsp, scrub brush and tsp,over,over,over...... then with muriatic acid until garage looked clean concentrating on spots where camaro sits since it likes to mark its territory. We let garage dry overnight and started painting early morning.I bought roller and pan for each box since i had read it starts to get sticky fast. The directions said it covered 3 to 4 hundred sq.ft. but since i paint lots i knew not to expect it but to cover about half my garage a box so i bought 2 boxes. 22x22 2 car garage and 2 boxes were perfect. We did not drive on it for 7 days to give time to cure...we also used clear coat which we applied 24 hours after paint. We havent had any problems.I even burned tires on camaro and pulled in garage...no hot tire pickup. It looks great.I also added extra specs because of reviews i had read that said be careful that you sprinkle evenly so you would have enough so started out with more and it is kinda hard to keep them even but really didnt show uneveness much. Everyone thinks it looks professionally done!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 8691 This product does great and is worth the effort
If you don't mind all of the effort and the time it takes to patch cracks, scrub, clean and etch you will be rewarded with a beautiful garage floor. Mine stretched out over a month of part time work. After the floor is painted you need to wait 96 before driving on it.

If looks is what your after this is your product if durability is what your after look else where. Went with the pro vesion. Had a previous coating on my floor and spend 2 months removing the old coating with a diama blade and sander got about 80% down to bare concrete the instructions say you just need to roughen up the old surface if it is not peeling. But I wanted to the best I could. HA!!! my garage is1200sf and after following the directions given, I appied the new floor, BEAUTIFUL waited two weeks to park on it even though it said 4 days. Yep you guess it tire peel after one use. Called the company and was told with a previous coating it need to be taken down 2-3 mils into the concrete. That would have been a good one for the instructions don't ya think. So 2 months and $1000. later I have a beuatiful floor that I already had to repair and I have to park in carpet squares. Very Disappointed with Rustolium as they where less than willing to help but very fast to blame. Use at your own risk Good luck.

I purchased the dark-grey solvent-based epoxy for my 500 sq. foot garage. I purchased one kit. My floor had an existing epoxy coating which was put down approximately 8 years ago. I checked with Rustoleum tech line (who are fantastic by the way), and they said as long as there was no major problems with peeling of the existing coating, using this product for a new coating should be fine. They did say that I need to do a "scuff-sand" of the existing coating once it had been cleaned. They said DO NOT use the etching product on the existing coating.
So I used the rustoleum degreaser/cleaner and a stiff bristled scrub brush to vigorously clean the floor. Then I rented a vibrating floor sander from HomeDepot to scuff up the floor. Then I did another scrubbing of the floor and let it dry over-night.
I painted the floor the next morning starting very early because of the temperature requirements of the product (it gets hot here in Vegas!!). I think some of the product may have leaked out of the cans prior to me purchasing it because once I mixed everything, there was not a full gallon.
Once the color-coat was finished and had dried for the amount of time specified, I put down a coat of the Rustoleum clear. After that dried for a day, I noticed that there was a spot I missed. I called Rustoleum and asked them if they could send/sell me just a small amount of the clear. They could not, but instead they gave me a credit for a free second kit of the clear!!!!! I put down the second coat of clear about a month ago and everything still looks beautiful. No peeling or hot-tire pick up. Great product. I will use it again on the floor of my seperate third-car garage.
Prep is key. Most of the work is in the prep.
Use a filtered mask when doing the color coat - the fumes are really strong, as expected.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by martymain This product should not scare anyone! It is easy to apply!
I am a 65 year-old grandmother who has applied this product to 3 garages so far! It is fun and easy, including the prep work! The secret is to fix all cracks in the concrete beforehand and make sure that you allow plenty of time for the floor to dry before applying the epoxy.
Another good hint is to apply when the temperature is just right-read the instructions which are included in the box.
One application was done 3 weeks ago, over a previously-done floor and it turned out perfectly. Yesterday I did our second garage, which had never been painted, and I am waiting for it to dry one more day before I walk on it. I will wait one more week before I drive our cars into this large garage. Don't be afraid; if I can do it, anyone can!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EEJim After 7 years
I just wanted consumers to know that I used this product in our garage 7 years ago and have not one compliant...
It is one tough floor finish. No blemishes or peeling has occurred. I did prep the new laid concrete floor just as instructed, so be sure to do a good job. Once the prep work is done the painting went easy. I worked quickly because of the dry time and let it cure for about 4 days.
One kit was just enough to complete a two car garage. I had just enough left over to do the concrete step out where my ac unit is (5'x10'). Good luck and enjoy the finished product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nathan So far so good
Just bought a new house and decided to seal the floor. Process was pretty painless, but I'd recommend having someone help you apply it and make sure you are covering spots multiple times for even coats. I can clearly see spots I didn't hit as thickly as I should have.
Also don't recommend using the silly flakes as they seem to rub off now.
I will likely be doing a clear coat over top of this to keep the colored flakes from rubbing off. Don't add the flakes if you want a "clean" garage.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nick Understated Coverage Area
Be careful because the coverage area is understated on this kit. I came up about 75 sq. ft. short and had to purchase another complete kit. The finish was also uneven because it absorbed into the concrete differently in some areas. My only option was to apply a second coat on top of it, but because it was longer than 5 days between coats, I had to sand the entire first coat with 60 grit sandpaper before applying the second coat. What a pain!
