CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to apply but buy twice as much as you need. I have a 3 1/2 car garage that is ten years old and the floor is in good condition. After getting the floor prepped I purchased two (2), 2 Gal. kits. Enough epoxy according to the box to do a 5 car garage. Using a squeegee to spreed it around and then rolling it I didn't have a drop left over. Waited 7days before I drove my cars on it just to make sure it was cured. FLOOR LOOKS GREAT !!! May 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Be Prepared to cover with Clear for extra $$$ Nice paint, easy to mix and apply, but you must prep surface properly and pay attention to temperature of floor. (which I did) Job looked very good when paint was wet. Unfortunately sheen was very uneven when dried. It was necessary to purchase and apply the Rustoleum Epoxy Clear over the entire surface to obtain uniform sheen. The clear is thick and must be used quickly. The coverage was not as label said for me. It was necessary to purchase TWO epoxy Clear kits to cover my area of approx 450 sq feet. Each clear kit cost me $94 plus extra labor. I lost money on this job... March 1, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not last - stay away - total garbage I rented a floor grinder from HD to prepare my floor for the epoxy. It was dangerous, dusty and left some grooves & swirls in my floor. I vacuumed, mixed the epoxy and rolled it out. DEFINITELY not enough chips to make the floor look good. Waited 4 days before putting my car back in the garage. The tire marks won't come off after 2 weeks of use. I turned my steering wheel, and the epoxy ripped right off the floor. The epoxy does not penetrate. Now I have to pay someone to come remove it and redo it professionally. Waste of time. waste of money. Completely worthless product. November 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great all in 1 Product It comes with everything you need. Make sure you watch the DVD so that it's easier to prep and apply. Lessons learned: 1. Make sure you work on a 4x4 area first and then have a plan to complete the rest. 2. Apply more to areas that are more 'traffic' areas. Corners or spaces that you'll put a shelve down on it just go over it 2x or so. Areas that cars and alot of foot traffic is on makes better sense to cover more of. Cleaning and prepping took longer than I thought...but it looks really good for the price. 3-4 hours to prep/clean, 3-4 to lay down the rest. I used the whole 2 Gallons and had an extra little room and also covered the Cement on the sides of the garage....if you have time, cement it to smooth it out...but i didn't because I didn't really care. I just jabbed at the holes to cover it and it looked ok. December 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed As a DIYer, I consider myself pretty skilled in all things paint related. This was my second venture with Rustoleum Garage Epoxy. In my first home, I had a wonderful experience with this product. My expectations were low, so the difference in sheen and uneven thickness didn't bother me. I just assumed it was my quick preparation. The floor performed very well - I never had a problem. Fast forward, 5 years to 2013... I purchased a kit for my new (new to me) home. This time, I decided to take my time. I actually watched the video and prepared the surface as directed. Applied the product just as shown on a cool (but not too cool) September evening. I waited an additional week before pulling in the cars. I'm not sure what happened to this product since the first time I used it, but what a disappointment. Within two weeks, the product peeled off under my tires. I was just cleaning out the garage today and decided to look for a product to "patch" the damage without having to re-paint the entire floor. I decided that I should leave a review while I was at it. Use at your own risk. September 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but not showroom perfect I first rented the floor polisher and diamond bit grinder at the Home Depot Tool department to remove the old paint on my garage floor. Truthfully, the floor looked pretty good after doing that. Maybe I should have just stained and sealed it at that point. Oh well. Next, I used the Rust-Oleum epoxy patch kit to patch some small holes and cracks. Then I rolled on the epoxy shield product and added the chips. Ok-here's what happened. The areas where I patched look different than the bare floor. It's quite easy to see the patches because the shine and texture look different. If I knew that was going to happen perhaps I should have not put down the color chips but then added a second coat the next day and then added chips. Oh well. I called Rust-Oleum (WOW! They have actual humans answering the phone...unheard of these days) and asked for advice. He suggested adding a clear gloss topcoat. (Another $100...grrrrr.) So that's what I did. You can still see the areas where the patch was used but it's not as obvious as it was before the gloss was applied. In one photo you can also see how on the second half of the garage I started putting down more chips than the first half. (Too bad the kit doesn't come with spiked shoes). So, I didn't quite get my showroom floor but it's close. I guess I'm happy. Not ecstatic, but happy. October 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not great Epoxy would go on floor fine but as i rolled over it a few times to distribute it would pick back up in spots. Floor was cleaned with pressure washer 2x and etch was used properly. Not sure why this happened but it also didnt dry even. Looked good wet but dry is a different look. Its disappointing when it takes two days to do and the end result is less than expected. Should have spent the money for acrylic i guess. September 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Have used this multiple times, works awesome every time! The process is easy and the results are awesome, great value for the money. I've used this multiple times and have had great results each time, super easy to apply! September 1, 2015
