Per Rustoleum's website, they have a formulation specifically for fabric (I did not know this until just now).
For this product in particular, while I don't remember seeing specific warnings on the product against this, I wouldn't recommend it - well, aside of shoes. I've applied this to my old work boots and it did a good job (for a couple of months). Keep in mind that when this product is applied Read More

For this product in particular, while I don't remember seeing specific warnings on the product against this, I wouldn't recommend it - well, aside of shoes. I've applied this to my old work boots and it did a good job (for a couple of months). Keep in mind that when this product is applied that there is a haze that will cover the sprayed area (i.e. if you applied it to clear glass it'd look like frosted glass when you're done). The Fabric formulation claims that there is no hazing effect and dries clear. Read Less

Yes. I sprayed this on my work boots to protect them from the mud and water. The only issue I has was it discolored the black boots to a milky white and it wares off in direct sunlight.

No. I tried it on a brand new pair. A week later the coating began to peal off and the shoes looked like poo. Try another type of waterproof product for shoes.

It will work on completely white shoes, but will wear off quickly. If you spray it on anything non-white, the Neverwet will make it appear to have an unsightly milky haze.

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 284 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by protects wood from moisture this product protects wood from moisture by causing water to bead off the surface and never penetrate August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for exterior water resistance Base coat plus repellant top coat. Easy to apply. Hen I needed more to finish my job I was told Home Depot no longer carries this item. They also didn't have a larger size which would have been useful. I'm applying it to the top of my RV so cleaning the surface is imperative. Fortunately I found more on line so I could finish my job. August 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beyond let down Bought these to do a pair of my shoes I had just bought and never worn, figured what better way to preserve my expensive shoes, only to find that the product made my shoes look like it was wrapped in plastic, take it from me, don't waste your money if you want these on black shoes, pretty much ruined them;( June 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't use I tried to use this product over a painted surface, it caused the paint to bubble up. It ruined everything and caused me to have to sand everything off. Terrible product to use over paint, even another rustoleum product. June 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Never Wet Great product. Does take a bit of time to use.use on a sunny day and time for drying goes quicker. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weather Preventative This stuff works great! We went on a cruise to Alaska. It was forecast to rain every day we were going to be there. I applied this to a pair of Levis and coat. The forecast changed to 50% chance of rain. A day later I applied it to some shoes and an umbrella. 20% forecast for rain. Then I applied it to my backpack and the forecast dropped to 5%; and it didn't rain the whole time we were there. Decided to go again. Heavy rains predicted in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway this coming week. I reapplied to same items and the forecast cleared right up. What a fantastic product!!!! August 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Get outta here water! Brought this product to my friend's lakehouse feeling that we could find a good use for it. However, he wondered how the final finish would look. The can specifies that it has a clear hazy finish. We decided to test it first on a beverage can (see photos.) Clear haze is a great description. We also ran a couple wetting tests on it, and it worked has promised... no water could stick to the can! We ended up using the product on the steps to the hot tub, which can get wet/slippery. They couldn't be happier with the product. June 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT USE ON FABRICS They tell you on fabrics its going have a "flat milky haze," which I took to mean as opaque. Nope, its milky. I'm not sure why you would ever want to use it on a fabric unless the fabric is white. Luckily, we used it on a bottom unseen section of a patio furniture cushion because it would otherwise be ruined. Not only is it a terrible white color, its also extremely rough and certainly not something you would want to sit on or wear. In my opinion, they should classify fabrics as something this SHOULDN'T be used on. July 22, 2013
