Not sure, I have only used it on higher density insulating foam board with good results. Most paint chew through styrofoam

It's a great product but wouldn't you rather use a brush on material for trim?

Answer:
I think it would be more cost effective to roll on a primer for such a large area as a wall. And you will get a more even coat.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Covered metal surface easily. Appears to protect against rust. Formerly painted metal had chipped paint and much rust. After use wire brush to remove rust and most paint, Painter's Touch White Primer covered the surface easily and well. I applied 2 coats of primer and surface looks as if painted well with flat white paint. It is on an exterior, often wet surface and no rust is visible after one month. May 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best primer i have found so for i am doing restoration on old truck,so for i have used over 50 cans of this primer,it covers good, need to keep the tip wiped off or you will get drips, same with any brand.dries fast,i have used in several temperatures, even at 50 deg dries pretty fast, the hooter the temperature the rougher the texture when it dries, but wet sands good and fast. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Regular primer would have worked just as well I was not impressed with 2x the coverage. Not worth the extra $. Coverage was about the same. The worst part of using this product was the fine powdery dust left behind after the primer dried. I had to rinse the metal cabinet and let it dry before applying spray paint. October 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great coverage, quick drying, paint bonds well I used the primer on several pieces of wicker furniture . After washing and applying 2 coats of the primer the paint adhered well and looks excellent I will definitely use this product again and again. June 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good solid paint. Goes on thick and adheres well. I use this white primer on my metal kinetic sculpture to protect the bare metal during the off season stored outside. Good product for the price. June 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good coverage GOOD COVERAGES easy use, I use on all my furniture recovery projects prior to paint. It is a 100% must! I spray it on so no brush stroke marks July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great primer! I've used this primer on plastic, wood and metal. Works like a charm and I'd definitely use it again. The trick to spray painting is to paint from at least eight inches away from your target and to keep your hand moving at all times. Easy peasy. April 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good primer Spray nozzle is comfortable to use. Value appears to be equivalent to 2 cans for single price of one. Spray seems to distribute in an even uniform pattern. Primer seems to be durable under finish for my metallic surface. Would use again. September 18, 2012
