Answer:
I bet you can, but that paint NOT STURDY and will be easy to scratch off. You'll have to cover it up with some really strong sealer.
It looks good on rough wood & stone, by the way. (:

Answer:
For sneakers you should use spray paint (Crylon, for example) "for any surface", because this metallic paint for hard surfaces and will chip off when you wear them, but some spray paints more flexible.

This paint good for metal and hard non-porous surfaces, it too liquid for wood or walls or floors. On wood you may need 2 or 3 coats and still it may not looks acceptable, this paint very liquid and smell really bad. May be you can use different - more thick-and smell better - latex paint of same color?

Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to fully dry. All surfaces must be dry at the time of application. Scrape and wire brush or power tool clean to remove loose rust, scale and deteriorated previous coatings. Previously coated surfaces must be sound and in good condition. Smooth, hard, or glossy finishes should be sanded to create a surface profile. The Painter’s Touch® Enamels are compatible with most coatings, but a test patch is suggested. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Metallic silver as it is! Used it for hardware in my buffet table, candle holder and lamp shade. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! The color is looks stunning exactly what I was looking for. Nice metallic color. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cool paint (things looks like aluminum or polished steel after painting) It looks great on metal, even on metal already painted, it covers old paint in one touch - (but that touch have to be very careful and precise because paint so liquid), good coverage. But EXTREMELY hard to paint because its so liquid and thin, it keep dripping and slipping under painter tape and leave hard-to-clean spots everywhere. Not for flat surfaces, I guess - I try to paint small wall and it looks horrible, but I paint fence posts which has green paint - and now that looks really cool! Ugly green posts turn into "industrial" fancy décor In few minutes! Smells really bad, gives to you headache and other problems, only way to use it - outside. I wish it more thick so its not dripping so much.... well, but that liquidness make it leave no brush strokes. So, think for yourself and protect surfaces before you start! March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very helpful sales person A gentleman, mid 30's, tall, slender), helped while I was getting mulch. He got the truck thing [ I was using a cane], and then loaded the bags. The loading is usual, and appreciated.., but he explained to me why they didn't have what I had come for, and when i asked about prices and was disappointed.., pointed out bags w/ holes 1/2 price. Love that!I took all the bags w/ holes! He stayed w/ the purchase, often helpers disappear and have to be called again, and loaded it. A very knowledgeable, personable, and professional man. He pointed out I could use the plastic wrap from the piled pallets to put down under the leaking bags. Another colleague [ a man often helpful, w/ an Australian 'cowboy' hat, early 50's?] helped me cut the plastic to size]. The 1st gentleman put the bags in the car so that there was actually very little spilled. I felt I had very courteous and intelligent service from both these gentlemen. June 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Silver Rustoleum paint I used it to paint 2 rear tractor rims twice each. It was done for looks and protection. I was very happy with the silver paint and still have quite a bit left. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Metallic Silver General Purpose Paint I purchased this to paint a metal table frame after it dried seemed like every time you rubbed on it, it would leave a film on you hand or clothe. I ended up sanding it down an repainting with a gray paint. March 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better then I've expected. A little of paint goes a long way. It gives a very good coverage with just one layer. Final effect is a truly metallic looking silver. December 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cool paint! This paint was perfect for the project we were doing. It turned out great! October 7, 2014
