Can this paint be used to paint a steel metal deekk

Asked by: Dolly66
Yes, Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover General Purpose Paint is ideal for a steel metal desk. Please keep in mind, the use of Painter’s Touch Primer provides a sound base for topcoat adhesion and is especially recommended for bare wood and metal projects.

32 oz. Ultra Cover Satin Espresso General Purpose Paint is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ultra Cover. Not! 4 coats of paint on a primed cabinet is INSANE! Wondering how soon I'll have to repaint it once it all scratches off... So beyond frustrating. Never again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Dark Brown Color Not Espresso! The color I need is what is on the can's label. That is not the color in the can. I stirred it really well thinking the dark pigment might be on the bottom of the can but it still is more like a dark gray- brown. See picture of the paint next to the color on the can's label. I tried rolling it on thinking it might be darker when painted but to no avail. It's a little irritating the the company responded to another reviewer suggesting that it's some other explanation when this is clearly not the color espresso by any definition. This is a big hassle bc I had to wipe off the paint, will have to return it--if they will accept the return, and then keep searching to find the correct color. This ruined my timeline to paint and install shelves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved this paint - until the second can of paint was a completely different color than the first! Bought a third paint and again lighter than the first can - even had home depot shake the can in their machine. This paint has caused me so much work and now I have to repaint the entire cabinets AGAIN so they match the drawers.....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not really expresso! Everything about the paint is good. Covers well. If you need something more durable go with oil based. The problem I have with this is the color it is not expresso it's more like chocolate so if your trying to match expresso furniture don't use this

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good for furniture I bought this paint to re-finish a dining room table and chairs as someone had recommended it for refinishing furniture. It states that it does not chip or scratch easily, but this is not true! It did cover well, but after letting it dry for weeks, I set a small, smooth basket on the table and it left a mark, just from sitting there. The chars also scratch very easily. I put a piece of glass on the table temporarily to protect it until I could have a piece custom-made, and the velvet pads I used to keep the glass from touching the table left permanent marks in the paint! I have barely touched the table-top and it's already ruined. I would not recommend this paint for high-use furniture. Also, the espresso color is not as dark as real espresso furniture. I bought this color so it would match my other espresso furniture pieces. It looks ok at night, but during the day the color is too chocolate and not dark espresso.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for rescuing used/damaged furniture. I recently moved and did not bring any furniture with me. I decided to buy all of my wood/metal furniture - table/chairs, patio furniture, nightstands/dressers, end tables - USED. This paint has a satin finish, is extremely durable and covers a lot of flaws. Most furniture I purchased was in pretty good shape except for the nightstand/table tops. I touched up the stain on the legs and then sanded/painted the tops with this satin Espresso, the results were wonderful. I usually use the spray version on outdoor furniture, but since I had this on hand I used it on a glass topped patio table that had been poorly painted in yellow. It now looks brand new and I get lots of complements on it and my other furniture. Since this is basically outdoor paint, it easily takes moisture from glasses/cups with no damage to the finish. Just a great product and an easy way to rehab used/damaged furniture.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ultra Cover?? Bought expresso, and a can of the red to paint two wooden adirondack chair and a small table. All were new wood that we primed before painting, This paint is so thin, it runs like crazy, and it's taken 2-3 coats to get decent coverage. Not happy at all with the performance of this product and would not reccomend it for anything other than a flat horizontal surface.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok - but oil base is better I bought this thinking it was the oil base in a can to go with the oil base in a spray can. IT IS NOT. This is latex. It scratches easier, dents easier, and just doesn't work as well as the oil spray. if you put it over the oil spray, it will peel. If you can spray at all, use the oil - it's great and it lasts! I sprayed 3 bathroom cabinets with the oil, and am very happy with them. I used this for one other, and was VERY disappointed
