Would this paint kill grass?

Asked by: Pedro
Rust-Oleum Professional Traffic Striping Paint is for use on concrete or asphalt surfaces. We do not recommend this for use on grass. If you wish to mark grass, we suggest our line of Marking Paint. Rust-Oleum Professional Marking Paint is suitable for use on gravel, soil, grass, concrete and blacktop. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Professional-15-oz-2X-White-Marking-Spray-Paint-266593/203302846?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-100123129-_-203302846-_-N

Can I dilute and use this to paint my driveway in Florida?

Asked by: Psl
Happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Professional Traffic Striping Paint is intended for large striping jobs on interior or exterior concrete or asphalt surfaces such as large commercial parking lots, curbs, or aisles. Thinning is not recommended, but if necessary to ease brushing or rolling, up to 5% water may be added. To refresh an asphalt driveway, check out Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Blacktop Coating! http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-EpoxyShield-2-Gal-Jet-Blacktop-Coating-247471/100675987

What clear coat can be put over the traffic striping paint

To put stripes on the floor I applied 3 coats of the traffic striping paint over rustoleum 2-part epoxy on a concrete floor and it looks great. My concern is the paint shows marks from shoes, probably because it is flat paint. Is there a clear coat that can be put over the traffic striping paint and overlap a little on the epoxy that will prevent it from marking up?
Asked by: Shack
Rust-Oleum Professional Traffic Striping Paint fully cures after 7-10 days and after that point, the coating becomes it's most durable. To clean the surface after it has cured, a little soap and water can be used.

Can it be used on epoxy or sealed concrete?

I have two applications where I need to paint lines for a basketball court. The indoor application will be on Rustoleum Professional garage floor epoxy Model # 257187 (water based). The outdoor application will be on concrete with ghostshield 8500 densifier sealer. I will use a combination of the 3 colors.
Asked by: Shack
If you want to paint over Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Epoxy Coating we recommend letting the coating fully dry and cure before applying a different coating. Check out Rust-Oleum Professional Traffic Striping Paint which is suitable for use with foot traffic. We do recommend scuffing the surface first to ensure adhesion of the two coatings.

Customer Reviews

1-gal. White Flat Professional Traffic Striping Paint is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inadequate for Traffic Striping We used the Yellow color of this paint on a factory floor with moderate Lift Truck and foot traffic. Lines appear excellent at first but almost completely disappear WITHIN HOURS because even the fully-dried paint is an absolute dust magnet that is difficult to clean. These floors see paper dust only, not oil, grease or other chemicals; just dry dust, and the dust on the lines cannot be swept away. We have years-old, beat up oil-based-paint lines that look much, much better. The loss for us is not primarily in the paint itself, but in the manhours of application labor! If you use this product, your lines will become and stay dirty! - Manufacturing Engineer

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work on rough surfaces I wanted to touch up the numbers on the asphalt surface of our condo parking lot to extend the life between resurfacings. I was told this product would do the trick. Using numbered stencils, the paint appeared too thin and didn't coat well and flowed into the tiny nooks and crannies. On smoother surfaces it might have worked better if applied with more than one coat.
