I'm painting an old rusty horse trailer in California. Treated bare rust with ospo. Do I need primer? And what primer is recommended for my state, by gallon?

While a primer isn't absolutely necessary, you'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes in most projects. Primers make colors pop, help topcoats go on more efficiently and prepare surfaces like bare wood, metal, and rust before painting. We suggest Rust-Oleum Professional White Clean Metal Primer.
