I bought this to coat a pitted, rusty metal bird bath that needed to not have toxic effects that could harm the birds. It's as easy to apply as spray paint and it has been under water for about a month with no signs of deterioration or flaws. Much cheaper than "pool treatment" products too.

Cold galvanizing spray cans worked well. The price was excellent compared to another brand I had bought before, and the fact that this spray is from a well known quality brand gave me confidence that it is a quality product.

The main purpose of this product is to deter rust. It does so by sacrificing itself (the zinc coating) rather than trying to seal out moisture and oxygen (traditional paint). The finish closely resembles plated galvanized coatings similar to old fencing or watering cans. I used several cans to recoat some rusty chain-link fence posts. I did this 4 years ago with very little effort or preparation. It came out great and still looks like new. It fades to a dull grey color quickly. My latest project is an old metal milk-box. It is a good product. I hope Rustoleum continues selling it for a long time to come.

Effective for reducing rust on clean steel or touching up galvanized steel. Nozzle prone to clogging.

I recently replaced the "bunk boards" on my Magnum trailer and used this product to coat all the lag screws, washers, and staple heads. The trailer is 18 years old and is regularly immersed in salt water. I use this product whenever I spot rust or whenever I add a non-stainless steel or non galvanized brace, bracket, or fitting to the boat or trailer. For being 18 years old, the trailer still looks great. There is little evidence of any corrosion and the spots where I have applied this compound appear to be as free of rust as the rest of the galvanized components of the boat and trailer. Thank you
