I've stained my deck every other year. Then decided to try home depots Restore product because of the age showing on my wooden deck. After washing and prep work, and paint, my deck look beautiful through the summer. But in the spring it all started peeling off. The restore is advertised as a miracle product to make an old deck look new and protected. But for the price they charge it should had lasted years. Not months. Now I'm back to square one. Worse paint product I have ever ran across. I believe Home Depot should Remove Restore from their shelves.

I painted my deck with this product in May of last year (2014) I followed all the manufacturer instructions with cleaning and prepping and it looked beautiful at first. Now my deck is a complete disaster! It is peeling, cracking and chipping everywhere, and it hasn't even been a year yet. Terrible waste of time and money.

We did all the prep before putting on our deck. Bought the 5 gallon and applied to our deck. I even painted it all the first coat sitting on my butt making sure every area got a good coating!!! Then the roller the 2nd coat. So disappointing that after ONE winter is is all peeling!!!!

I would give this product no stars if that were possible. I spent so much time and effort, not to mention money on this product. I spent a TON of money to make sure that I had all the prep products needed to do this restore. I followed ALL directions and restored my very large deck. It was great for a couple of months then started to peel up. I was more than mad about it and went back to the store for a refund.... Nope!! not gonna happen. The rest of the product all peeled up after the winter. I would not recommend this product. It is way too expensive to just have to redo every couple of months. I have never been more disappointed in any product. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!

Would give NO STARS if it were possible. Last summer I spent a lot of time prepping two decks and two set of stairs. I was 65 and did all the work myself. Who thinks this is "easy to apply"?!! It's very thick and lasted 2 seconds on a roller, so I used a brush...two coats of back breaking work! The decks looked good for the rest of the summer. This spring I noticed patches coming up...upon closer inspection large pieces came up all over both decks and the stairs. The paint that didn't come up is difficult to scrape up. Now the decks look awful, much worse than before I started. Wish I never used this product. Since then I have talked with others who have had the same problem. Would be fair if Restore reimbursed us. I had to use 4 gallons @ $32. a gallon and lots of back breaking TIME & work...A waste of time & money. And my decks and stairs LOOK AWFUL.

We really like the feel and durability of the restore 4x product, however we went with the cedar tone. Although, we loved the original color, it shows everything! Would not recommend this color for decking that you are using. Would be great for railings, but definitely not for walking on, at least not in the lighter colors. Although, it is easy to clean, you need to remove everything from deck and scrub with a scrub brush to get any darken areas clean, but it truly does come back to the gorgeous color, just more work than I wanted to extend on deck!

Was hesitant after reading reviews - but then I met people who had used and loved it. So we decided to do our decks - major fail six months later. Cracking and peeling everywhere one very unhappy customer. When weather improves we will be renting a drum sander and try to get rid of it all.
The only positives - the 4x and 10x are thick and apply nicely - nice variety of color options.

Didn't last! Followed instructions and used in front decking and stairs as a trial. Chipped and peeled after one winter. Used Over Deck on the back and side decking last summer and it has stood up so far. Plus it was much easier to apply!
