Can I use this product on an aluminum deck railing?

I have used this product for the past 6 years on my untreated Douglas fir decking with quite good results and was wondering how it would work on the deck's aluminum railings. Have spot tested it, but don't know how long it will stand up and it lacks the luster of the railings original finish. If it sticks to the aluminum it will save me a lot of hassle. Thanks.

Answer:
Rust-Oleum Restore Solid Acrylic Stain is designed for use on wood or concrete surfaces only. The coating will not adhere to a smooth metal surface properly. We recommend using a coating such as the Stops Rust Protective Enamel for your application. http://www.homedepot.com/s/Stops%2520Rust%2520Protective%2520Enamel?NCNI-5
