Answer:
I have some in the sun and it lasted over a year. I have some under a roof water gusher in hard rain and some of it washed off from last year. I plan to repaint that area and try to divert the water and hope it does not rain as soon as I finish as last time.

Good question. I have heard 5 plus years, BUT, many many people say less than 1 year (ONE winter) unless you follow the directions EXACTLY, including prep and drying conditions

Answer:
Hello John,
Thank you for your question!
Rust-Oleum says to wait at least 6 months on new wood to allow it to weather and completely dry out. With that being said, this will work well on your pool deck.
Have a good day,
Christine

Answer:
This product has sand in it (I think) and it settles into the bottom. YOu must have it well mixed to do a good job. I don't know if your sprayer could handle the mixture it is thick. It spreads well on a flat surface and I even put it on the upright posts. If you let it dry well before rain it will stick and form like a concrete surface.

4 gal. 10X Advanced Timberline Deck and Concrete Resurfacer is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy. Just went through our second summer with this product. We did our deck in late Spring 2015. Last year it mildewed. This year it peeled in large patches and continued to mildew.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from didn't last 2 years applied as per instructions, seems it will not adhere to knots, once it cracks, water gets right under it.....freezes and that's it, starts spreading from that point, after this winter deck is ruined

I painted my decks with it 18 months ago and am suffering paint failure on all three of them. Choose something else!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but lots of work and untrue colors We purchased a house with aging front and back decks that desperately need painting. It was chipped and had some damage to the wood. After reviewing many many reviews on rustoleums 10x, both good and bad, we decided to try it out on the back deck first. We followed the directions to the letter because there were some bad reviews out there about it pealing off and we didn't want that to happen. This meant a lot of work. It is also quite expensive. For the 2 decks, our all in cost for this project (including pressure washer rental) was ~$1200!!! 1. Power washed the deck. 2. Sanded the deck with and orbital sander. 3. Primed using the rustoleum primer. 4. Two coats of 10x using their special rollers. This took the better part of 3 weekends to do for a 15x15 deck. A ton of work but looked nice. The one thing we weren't too pleased about was the color. Lesson #1: buy a heavy duty extendable pole to attach your roller to. Also, don't cheap out with the roller. You have to apply considerable pressure when applying 10x and cheap poles/rollers will not make your job nice. Lesson #2: don't trust the color swatches! The color of timberline was way more orange than expected. Thankfully we did the back deck first. Moved on to the much larger and more complicated front deck. Same steps and tons of work. This time we went with a much darker color. We matched the deck color with the same color in 4x for the uprights and rails. Lesson #3: rust oleum has done a TERRIBLE job matching the colors of the 10x to the 4x. They look similar going on but dry very different colors. I suspect it is because of the grit additive in 10x but you'd think they would account for that. Advice to others, purposely choose a contrasting color for the uprights and trim because if you expect the 4x to match the 10x you will be disappointed. So with all the bad things, do I like it? Yes. Other than the misaligned colors it make an old deck look like new. The grit gives good traction in icy winter conditions and so far it has weathered nicely. We will see how well it does over time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Peeling after one winter Followed all prep work and instructions. Unfortunately this product is already peeling in several areas on my deck and its only may 2016 i applied this last july 2015. Spent at least 400 dollars on this product including the prep materials. Cannot recommend such an expensive product if it is already deteriating. Wish i had better review to post.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!!! We bought this about 3 years ago and this started after 16 months and it's just getting worst the bad thing is I tried sanding it and it just tear up the sandpaper. Not sure what to do ? Buy the **** again or tear all the wood off and start over!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible After 2 years it's all peeling right off or blowing off in the wind with zero traffic.
Date published: 2016-04-03
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product EVER!! I purchased this product less than 2 years ago. My husband and I removed all previous finish from our rather large deck and pressure washed. We allowed the sun to dry the deck prior to putting the stain on it. Some of the wood on the deck was brand new, when we used this product. We had to replace 12 decking boards, including 6 that were brand new, this past weekend. They were rotted through. We also had to replace 2 of the cross members as well since they had rotted.. On top of that, the stain has chipped and bubbled though out the deck and finish will have to be removed and will will have to re-stain this deck to fix the horrible problems that this product has caused. We spent over $600 dollars using the products required to make our deck last forever. It looks like garbage and we are out a lot of money. What a disappointment! Don't use this product without proper research!! There is a class action lawsuit against this company for giving consumers false hope and a product that won't last one harsh weather day!
