We used restore 3 years ago and would like to freshen up deck because of chips and mold. Do we use Restore again or just paint over the Restore to freshen?
Asked by: Chris
Happy to help, Chris! Rust-Oleum Restore Liquid Armor Resurfacer can be recoated with itself. It is important that the surface is thoroughly cleaned and any loose coating is removed prior to applying an additional coat. If the surface does not receive vehicular traffic, we recommend using Rust-Oleum Restore 2X Deck Stain if wanting to change the color!

Can i use this product over painted concrete?

Asked by: diablito82
Yes, please keep in mind, proper surface preparation is critical to performance. The surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, mildew and organic growth to ensure product bonding and adhesion. Sand or scrape any loose paint. Smooth or glossy surfaces should be sanded or de-glossed before application. Clean the surface using a brush and Restore Deck & Concrete Cleaner or suitable non-bleach cleaner.

How do you remove a coating of rust oleum advance from my driveway to put down rustoleum extreme

Asked by: Jj
A Sodium Hydroxide paint stripper can remove our Restore 10x Advanced, although the stripper must be allowed extra time to work on the surface to soften it since it is such a thick coating. We recommend our Wolman DeckStrip-ASR for this task:

4 gal. Granite Liquid Armor Resurfacer is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Depot is phasing this out I have used this product before with no issues but Had to order online as i could not find in any stores. Arrived quickly but all the gritty substance had solidified in the bottom. No amount of stirring/ scraping could get it all mixed. A waste of $100. As a secondary note, Depot does have Behr but is is twice the price

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost what I expected I figured if it was good enough for a driveway, then it would work on my concrete garage floor. I had been waiting for a product that I didn't have to mix or etch ahead of time. I didn't measure so I ended up making a total of 3 trips for 3 containers and 3 rollers (the textured rollers start to fall apart towards the end of each container). With the purchase of the 3rd container, I also bought paint flakes to make it actually look like granite on the floor because it was too flat and grey (do it in 3ft sections - see photos). The paint guy also shook the container twice and I stirred it frequently so it wouldn't settle and get too thick like the first 2. The product goes a lot further if you roll right out of the container with a paint grate instead of pouring it into a tray. I probably would have used 4 containers for my garage floor if I put it on as thick as they do in the video (rustoleum site). It's been down for 3 weeks and needs touch up where I went too thin and where my husband parks and I need more concrete filler/caulk. Overall, very easy to use, worth the investment and the 2 days to tape off, powerwash, paint and another 5 days to drive on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Driveway Renewal Experience I could possibly have !!! Prepared the driveway surface per the instructions and then we applied the contents of one 5 gallon Rustoleum Xtreme and it is a DISASTER !! 8 whole days after the application, we can still go out and twist our foot on/in the sealant and scuff it up and track it into our house. Drove our car on it and WOW!! All over the tires and inner fenders. Today, I am taking the two unused 5 gallon containers back to Home Depot, with a number of pictures in hand, to attempt to get my $330 back. One estimate we have received is $140 to remove the defective coat already applied. Another downer - When it rains the grey/blue color washes into the street gutter and down in front of 3 or 4 neighbors driveways !!! We are not popular. Recommend you do not go near this product at all!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away Horrible experience with this product. Used it on our concrete patio. Didn't get the specified coverage, had to buy 3 extra buckets (in addition to the 4 we originally purchased) to cover 2 coats. Shows every roller mark; very un-happy with the finish. And worst of all, after only 2 months, it is already cracking and chipping up. Home Depot did the right thing and refunded our money, but my patio looks worse now than before we started

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RESTORE in Sage used this 2 years ago on a weather beaten deck. went on smooth, dried quickly with a beautiful finish. only wish the price was lower or coverage better. very tempting to go to a concrete floor paint for $$ difference.
