Yes, proper surface preparation is critical to the performance of Rust-Oleum Liquid Armor Resurfacer. The surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, mildew and organic growth to ensure product bonding and adhesion. Sand or scrape any loose paint. The surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, mildew and organic growth to ensure product bonding and adhesion. Sand or scrape any loose paint. Smooth or glossy surfaces should be sanded or de-glossed before application. Clean the surface using a brush and Restore Deck & Concrete Cleaner or suitable non-bleach cleaner. For grease/oil spots, use tri-sodium phosphate (TSP) according to the manufacturer’s directions. Patch cracks, potholes and depressions in concrete using cement-based patching material. Use Restore Crack Use a filler or similar latex based caulk to fill cracks larger than 1/16”. For cracks larger than 1/4 “, use a cement patch according to manufacturer’s instructions. Read Less
