Does this product work on vertical surfaces?

I have a concrete porch with staircase that is in rough shape. Old loose, flaking paint plus small cracks and little chunks missing means paint won't do the job- would all show through. Restore looks like it will cover well but no mention made anywhere of vertical surfaces. How would the product be applied on stair risers and such, and would it stick?

Answer:
Deck & Concrete Restore is not recommended for use on vertical surfaces. The aggregate would not have proper time to cure before gravity may begin to pull the coating downward. Our newest product, Vertical Restore, is currently available in Canadian stores (I see that you are in British Columbia. It will be available in the US in the coming months) and would work perfectly for your application.

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Peels after less than a year It was a very expensive project for us. We followed all manufacturer's instructions, cleaned the painted surface as described in the manual, painted a front porch and deck with restore only to find out that it peeled off very easily. And now our deck requires repainting again it did not even last a year. March 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! This product is hard to get even coverage. After following the recommended surface prep procedure the paint either started chipping off after a week, or it turned to sand and left nothing behind but ugly tint.On the areas where the paint actually did stick, any dirt or mud that gets on it will only come off using a pressure washer. I now have two options. replace my entire deck or sand all the garbage off it and use a better product. May 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome My deck was in bad shape this paint does miracles. December 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good short term product This product worked really well the first year we put it on. It did take about twice as much as stated however, we may have spread it heavier... We live in Colorado so with the hot summer then very cold winter..snow, melt, snow, melt...Spring, year two and it's coming off in patches on the deck. Fortunately, we planned on replacing the deck this year otherwise would have been really frustrated. This is a good product for a short term restoration. If touching up...the texture can be inconsistent...pay attention when re-spreading to make sure texture looks consistent. April 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NEVER AGAIN I had two options either replace an eight year old deck or use a restrore product. I should have replaced the deck. Once I put this product on it looked great for one year. After that I have chipping all over the deck. You have to understand we don't use our deck that much. There isn't the foot traffic on it that most decks have. This product in my opion is gargage a waste of money. It took 20 gallons to cover my deck. Due the math and replace the boards that you feel need replaced. If not all the screw heads are now covered and now a pressurer washer and three days later you are back to where you started. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible product, please DO NOT USE! I applied this product following the directions exactly. I spent about three times as much time prepping than applying the product. It looked great for a few months, but then it started bubbling and cracking over about 75% of the deck. Even the parts that haven't bubbled up chip very easily. I have never been so upset about any product this much before, very angry and upset that Home Depot is still selling this. I really wanted it to work, which is why I put in so much prep time. You will regret this purchase. April 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Two years and still impressed After two years I decided to update my review. I originally rated it lower as I had some difficulty with the final gloss coating step. It did turn out beautiful, and two years later I have to say that it still looks great. This surface is as hard as stone. It hasn't chipped or faded and holds up well to heat. I'm still impressed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't last one season Yes I watched the video. Yes I used two coats. Yes I made sure the weather was appropriate for the application. Yes I followed all the instructions as per the video. I applied the restore product in September and by January a quarter of it had peeled. Apparently this product is not made for the brutal winters of the northeast. Now it's March and nearly three quarters of the deck has peeled. NOT A GOOD PRODUCT. Do not waste your time or money!
