CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible product After taking the time to follow all of the directions on surface preparation we applied two coats of the x10 to the deck of our home.. it looked great for the rest of the summer. This spring I stepped out and found cracking, places where 6"x12" slabs of the paint was just sliding off. This was happening all over the three deck areas. I'm at a loss about what to do at this point. We are getting the house ready to sell in April and the weather (temperature) won't be warm enough to re-coat with this product. This leaves only one option and that is full removal from all of the deck surfaces as well as the deck railing. If you live in a cold climate like we do, think twice and then thrice about using this product. March 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Soooo Disappointed in this product!!!!!! So much time on prepping the old deck and followed the directions for cleaning. Applied first coat on completely dried deck, in the shade, 75 degree morning. Had to buy another 4 gallon bucket. Applied 2nd coat, day 2.. Another beautiful fall day in the Chicago area. Morning shade. We loved it. Looked great. Happy. Then winter came.... it looks horrible now...... I'm sickened and disappointed!! I busted my butt. Back pain from bending over preparing, rolling, and rolling again. Pain was worth the result, but the result did not last a year!! Rustoleum needs to refund my money and pay for someone to pressure wash this Restore flaking mess off my deck now! May 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible, my deck is a mess! Applied this last fall and it looked great. Was so happy to not have to stain my deck ever again...or so I thought. We spent $300 on this stuff for our small deck. Thought it would be worth it...boy was I wrong! So now that the snow has melted off from the winter I saw several areas where it had chipped off. My husband went out to clean the deck, when he dumped a bucket of water on it tons of the stuff just washed away and now it's flaking off like crazy! I don't even know what I'm going to do! I'm afraid my deck may be ruined!!!!! And yes we followed the directions exactly including putting the correct amount on and cleaning/prepping the wood before applying. Correct temperature. I'm going to try to get a refund but who knows. Either way, what a nightmare!!! A project completed has turned into at least triple the work if we can even fix it! March 29, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What a waste of money Applied product according the the directions last spring and was very happy with the results until it started peeling and chipping off. Now to see if they will stand behind their product and honor the warranty. May 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Huge Disappointment Bought this product last spring to redo our deck after moving into our house. Product looked nice when first put on. After one winter and not even a year later, the paint is chipping and peeling off of the deck. I can't believe how horrible this product is and what a waste of time it was applying it. I am so disappointed with the quality of this product and will be trying to get my money back. March 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by spreading peanut butter deck prepped, pressure washed until no finish left. rain absorbing last 2 rains. allowed to dry completely. 20 yr old deck... splinters, cracked etc... temps 65-75F, Stirred as best I could. product consistency of peanut butter. very hard to work with. Hard to apply rollering on at these temps was not an option. 1.5 gallons for a 8x12 deck one coat took 2 hrs. 6 hrs later was dry enough to walk on and recoated areas where there was severe cracking etc.. about 1/3 of surface.. I would rather lay a new deck than use this again... maybe if warmer it would flow... a putty knife would have worked better. now to see what winter does to it given some of these reviews... Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Deck Covering Had a professional painter clean, prep the deck according to the directions and apply the deck covering to a porch and composite pool deck. I thought that this would be great. WRONG. The porch deck started peeling and crumbling within two months. The pool deck look OK, right after it was painted with Restore the pool was closed up.In the spring the pool deck was just like the porch deck. Peeling and all crumbly. What did adhere, we had to grind off.For the amount of money spent and time I would not recommend this product. I called Rust-Oleum, sent in pictures, and within 2 weeks had refunded what I had spent on the deck covering. July 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Huge waste of time and money!! Last year my husband and I redid our deck with Restore. It was a lot of work but we were pleased with the results. This year our deck is a complete disaster! The flooring product is peeling off in huge chunks and the paint/stain used on the railings is coming off in large flakes!! We expected this to last a few years and now are faced with the huge task of doing it over, less than one year later! I might add that we followed the instructions exactly and recently have met several other people that have had the same experience. I've tried contacting Rustoleum several but the "contact us" page on their web site doesn't work either!! May 27, 2014
